KSNM 30 12/23/05Follow

#1 Dec 19 2005 at 9:15 AM Rating: Decent
I would like to wish everyone a Happy Holidays Smiley: grin
I would also like to take this time to thank everyone who has been to our KSNM runs. Without all of you, they wouldn't happen. With that in mind for the holiday season upon us, our next run will be a Christmas special.

Each orb will be a 400k minimum drop, any drops under 400k will be yours to keep. Any over get the normal 40/60 split.

KSNM 30
When: Friday December 23rd
Time: 6pm EST.
Place: Waughroom Shrine, Palborough Mines
Needed: Lachesis Orb (Trade 30 Kindred Seals to Shami in Port Jueno)

If a V-claw drops you keep it, the balance of the drop goes to the BLMs.

Send Damyen, Cadant or Bryantr a /tell one hour before, to put your name on the list, otherwise it is a first come first go basis.

Once again we appreciate all of the feedback we have been getting, both good and bad, and we are working on making these runs go as quickly and smooth as possible.

Just a correction, Saturday is the 24th of December not the 23rd. Is there any way you could go a little bit earlier, currently at midnight my time which makes it impossible for me to attend. ><
#3 Dec 19 2005 at 11:02 AM Rating: Decent
My bad it is actually scheduled for friday being saturday is christmas eve. Sorry about any confusion.

Just a question, but does your group ever do Double Dragonian? I'm dying for some Destroyers, and if they were to drop I'd be willing to forfiet ANY sellable items for them. I have 88 seals and should have enough for 3 orbs very soon....

The D cloth does indeed drop from that KSNM, unfortunately from what I see with their rules youd have to sell the cloth and split it.

But it would get you closer to owning that vermy cloak thats for sure (or if you get a V claw, it would settle it too, think about it)

if you guys are looking for one of the 3 most expensive items that drop from this ksnm30, what we can do is, you tell us what you want and if it drops its all yours. everyone does the V claw because that's the most expensive drop though. but yeah, if you wanted a D cloth just let us know before the run and if it drops, its all yours. but that does mean if a V claw were to drop, that would then be sold and given to us (40%)

edit: to andrinor: we tried copycat on our last ks30 run at the end. we got shafted because it used the whm's 2hr. we could have easily won that one if it didnt use bene. we almost killed it again actually lol. copycat drops destroyers too

edit#2: heres another ksnm30 that we might be willing to give a shot if you guys needed something out of it. from the looks of it, it drops more things that are worth a bit. no V claw though, thats the only bad part. http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/quests.html?realm=&fquest=563

I have actually done both of these. Pigeons and Double Dragonian.

Double Dragonian is more fun but more dangerous and takes a REALLY good RDM for sleep. With a good Rdm its not difficult.

PP is easy to manaburn but you have to be carefull, one wrong move and it gets ugly. Recommend you don't do on lights day.

You guys really should just make the rule to keep any of the three "big drops" like the other KSLS. The current rule is very unfair and has a 1/4 chance of actually making a person money.

1- Oh no, nothing good dropped ; ;
2- Oh no, I picked Ingot, and claw dropped ; ;
3- oh no, I picked Ingot, and cloth dropped ; ;
4- oh yea! I picked Ingot, and Ingot dropped!

... Yea...

I have never seen any of the others offer this option.

The only other LS that advertises on Alla is the one I'm referring to. Perhaps the one run by Psylink? I really don't know.

what would be the point of that for us? sure we would look like nice people, but we would make no money except on the orichalcum or adaman ingots, and only about half of the people that get an adaman ingot even bother to pay us since its so close to the 300k we say. i wont bother writing out names because ill look like a greedy as*hole. just trying to make a point.

i said that you could choose w/e you wanted, just in case it dropped you wouldnt have to sell and split it if thats what you wanted.

i understand what you're saying, but if we didnt allow the option of even choosing what you wanted to keep, wouldnt that be even worse?

It's not really "ripping it away", the user still gets to keep 60% of it which is still a hefty amount.

It's a business, after all... if they made it so that they got nothing from the <400k drops, and they got nothing from the 3 big money drops, they'd hardly make anything for their work. Quite honestly, we should be glad that any of the groups even offer to do the "if V-claw drops it's all yours" thing. I'm betting that it never used to be like that when BLMs first found out they could manaburn this KSNM (they probably split everything, even the 3 big money drops), and it eventually became a "bonus" implemented to get them more business.

Well its a service, they could do it only for the other drops, but then theyd want all the other drops.

Because quite frankly aside from the big 3 drops the other stuff isnt worth much and for 4-5 hours of manaburning KSNMs for others every BLM would walk away without much, sure it would be nice of them, but keep in mind they spent a lot of time getting there and getting the gear they need to make sure they dont get you killed.

Then its stil skill to win the KSNM, one idiot can ruin it all in a group, and there is a lot of trust involved among the members of a group so that someone doesnt run away with the money.

And lets say you pick cloth and you get a claw, you still get about 4 million gil for yourself, how is that for waiting an hour or 2 and spending seals you got during exp pts? You just made xping well worth it ^^

Im a crafter not a BLM but the scenario is the same; why would I give away +1 or +2 synths away and keep the NQs for myself? To some close friends I wouldnt mind, but to others (general public) Id at least ask for a tip of some sort.

See, this is my point exactly. Yes, she wants the claw to get a scorpian harness, but what if the cloth drops instead? She spent all that time saving up KS after KS so she could get what she wants, and then you guys rip it away from her because she had an unlucky guess.

This BCNM is predominantly about luck, why cut the odds more than they already are?

You are wrong. No other BLM team gives you a choice of drops (I was part of Psylinks team earlier).

Of course, you can start the first when you get your Blm to 73. Send me a /tell.

The odds without these BLM teams are what?

I really could care less if the cloth dropped instead of the claw. This is because I would still get 60% of the money. The cloth is like.. 3,700,000? meaning I would still get 2,160,000. (Correct me if I'm wrong.)

It used to be where all the money was given to the BLMs. (Atleast on the ones I did.) Now you get to keep 60%, which is a relief.

Now if you wanted the cloth and a claw dropped, you would end up getting 4,800,000, which is enough and then some to buy the cloth. Sure, you could have made alot more gil if you would have chosen the claw, but thats up to the user.

Even if the option was given, I still would go with the claw, and I think most people would. Thats for the sheer fact that the claw is worth more money, and as greedy as it may sound, I do want more money for myself for my Kindred Seals.

The choice of "whatever big-drop drops you can have" would be unrealistic because you probably wouldn't find BLMs doing it if not for the chance of getting the items, too. Its a service, no one is forcing the BLMs to do it.

we appreciate the feedback about the problems or flaws we have. this is neither. this is one person expressing his dislike for not being able to make uber leet gilz. to me, it seems greedy, and for you it just looks like we are the greedy ones. (actually everyone might think this XD) i'm sorry, but we are not going to change it.

if you hit 75 and get a ks30 group and you in fact keep your idea. i promise, i will get our whole group to quit and tell everyone to see you.
