I'm close (well if you consider the next stage of my crafting "close"), but I can't say when I get there I will do giant bird fletchings.

230k/stack of plumes. 2 plumes per synth. Each synth gives 6 fletchings. That means for 230k stack, I'd get 3 stacks of giant bird fletchings. You pay 10k per stack... that's a 200k pure loss for 6 synths.

Perhaps that's why you don't see very many giant bird fletchings on the AH.

I believe the more popular route is making Errant gear (hat or slops), which... while also extremely lossy, can be desynthed for reprocessing, as well as the ocassional tier 0 HQ that will pay for a level of crafting here and there.

I'm sorry, if you want to pay a clothcrafter to skill on giant bird plumes for you, you might have to offer a better deal. But I wish you good luck though. Maybe not all crafters are as cost concious as me. Alas, I'm a poor crafter and can't afford to power level anything.

Plumes are 300-320k a stack currently.

81 is not really close to Plumes; you need to get through the Arhat Hakama stage, which is also pretty bad, but not as much.

You could take Errant Slops instead on Plumes, but those are 75k a synth, and are also basically npc'd. Don't think it will HQ much at all. Could be wrong.
