Carmine Dobsonfly (the next run)Follow

It's now just about impossible to get people to form a group to go hunt these things.

1) They don't have access to Riverne.
2) They don't want the items.
3) They don't have level 40 equipment.
4) They want proof that Dobsonfly is currently up.

Concerning #4, I just tried to go scout the area and confirm for myself, but eventually found that what I was told about "Wyvern Scales" was misleading, so now I can't even scout the freaking place without a group. Too few people in the LS want to help.

So.. anybody interested in setting up a group to fight these things?

I've tried multiple times to get people together to fight these, but if you think you can swing it, I'll come and suicide pull as THF/NIN.

How does 7pmPST/8pmMT/9pmCST/10pmEST on Friday or Saturday sound?

For those in Ireland or New Zealand, forgive me, I don't know how to convert to your time. T-T

Put me down I have an idea of how the formation would be. I could go as RNG/NIN,THF/NIN or BLM/NIN (Yes thats right BLM/NIN). If we have a minimum of 3 SMNs or 2SMNs 1BLM/NIN with a Tank PLD or NIN and of course healer it can be done. THF/NIN will also be needed to pull them all together for super duper 2 hour nuking. Anyways send me a /tell Djnem I always wanted that darn ring and the sallet would be nice lookin to my collection as well ^^. I will be willing to do a full week run if necessary to keep everyone happy and receiving their drops as well.

I'm available Mon-Fri 7pmEST-1amEST (Friday I'm flexible) Weekends whenever.

I can come Saturday as BST40/WHM20 or BST40/RDM20.

May as well get this over with now. The chances of getting 3+ SMNs on a Dobsonfly run aren't so very good. If you want to come, I suggest investing in a reraise earring. I ran to the first unstable distortion solo, only took me one casting of Utsusemi. You just need invis, but you do need non-magical invis (Utsusemi or Prism Powder) since there are clusters past that unstable distortion. I will try to provide some powder if I can, but don't bet on it.

Stuff I personally recommend you bring, regardless of job:
-Reraise earring
-some extra exp to burn
-ready 2hr
-prism powder (or Shinobi Tabi if you're /NIN)

A clue as to what is involved:
Carmine Dobsonflies are a group of about 10 partied (yes, like Fomor parties) NMs with a 21-24 hour repop time. They apparently spam wind-based magic and can lower your stats with one of their specials. They have roughly 1500 HP. Diamond Dust does roughly 500 to them (do the math). They have only rare/ex drops. To get to them, you have to sneak past hippogryphs (true-sight), clusters (sight and magic aggro) and wyverns (sight aggro). To get to the island where the flies spawn you must make it through the first unstable distortion, which requires a rare/ex scale dropped by the local wyverns (VT when I checked them) to get through. Just one scale should be enough to get everyone through. Hope this gives people some kinda idea.

I'm now available tonight (Friday) and unavailable tomorrow night. Funny how things work out...

If you guys can wait for me after my COP static I'll make an attempt tonight. My COP static starts at 12am EST tonight though lol. I know the last time we went was kinda late so hopefully I can make it. I'm gonna try to bring about 2-3 SMN buddies of mine as well to make the battle easier.
