any1 interested in doing a DM run on lakshmi? I wanna get the earring.

Items needed:
-Poison potions (for AoE sleep that taru and mithra have)
-Echo drops, cant stress this enough for those that need them (mages+bards+nins)
-Potions, mainly helpful for melees
-Ethers, mages will need these
-Food, dont slack off get food
-Opo-opo necklace for melee and gain TP while asleep. Sleep in the room before we enter. Also after we wipe mid battle sleep and gain TP while waiting on weakness.
- Sleep potions, at least 2 stacks. ONLY for melee using the Opo-opo necklace.
-RERAISE equiptment piece, THIS IS A MUST FOR EVERYONE! idc if its RRI or RRII, as long as u have one, there is simply no time or MP to spare for others to raise you.
-Icarus wing, for melees

IMPORTANT NOTE, if weere gonna wipe do it on the stairs for farther back, this way we can reraise without aggro, if you die in the circle arena your pretty much useless cause u wont be able to reraise without aggro. and ever if we start fighting a stray AoE could kill you right after u raise. So plz if wiping try to die at the stairs.

well finding like 15 blm for a manaburn run would be hard so might as well do a normal run cause easyer to get people, I just need to farm the illumiint to get my pentasphere.

I think they are refering to Divine Might BCNM. As for if a 68 Whm could help I have no idea, I've never been.

Yes, DM stands for Divine Might, which is a difficult BC fight for a quest to give you a rare/ex earring. The fight also counts as completing Zilart Mission 14.

I'd be interested in going, and I could likely get others who would like to go or would be willing to help.

Count me in, 75WAR here. Can also bring another 75PLD that's also a 72WHM, another 72WAR and a 72BLM that has the Pentashere all set.

And I believe one Ark Pentasphere will get a full alliance in. Correct me if I am wrong tho, since I've only been lead to believe that.

yes you only need 1 penta sphere to get everyone it. If we have multipentaspheres we can do multiple runs in case we fail like the first few.

For those who have friends i have no problem bringing em, this BCNM is hard so id say lv 70+ best

also what date do you guys want to do this? I have school on weekdays so weekends best for me.

from what im reading it looks like we need at least
2 PLD
1 THF
3 NIN
3 RDM
a WHM (obviously)
a BRD (if we can find one)
thats 11 slots with 3 pts allience that makes a total of 18
so that 7 free slot if we go by what alla has posted about the non manaburn style run. Also people have go to know how to kite.

I putting this run together so id like to have a pentasphere if possible for the run. So sleek could you help me farm one?

From what I've seen, it's necessary to kill the Tarutaru AA very quickly or he will destroy the whole alliance. Thus, you'll need a few BLMs. I've tried with no BLMs and with 2 BLMs and both times we lost quickly because we could not kill the TT quickly enough. You might also want an additional RDM to sleep the avatar and BST pet because the other 3 will likely be taking care of the kiting NINs and won't have time to sleep a pet or two.

EDIT: Everyone will also need a reraise item or spell because it's very likely you'll die at some point, and you won't have time to R3 everyone. You've got 30 minutes, and you need all the time you can get.

The earring is not a dropped item. Once you activate the quest when you complete the bcnm you go talk to someone (not sure off the top of my head) and you can choose from an earring

From my experiences with Divine Might, you actually have to kill the taru and mithra within the first 3-4 minutes of the fight, otherwise you're done. This is not a joke, the fight is literally determined in the first 3-4 minutes. Just some pointers from my own experience:

1 - Unload on the Taru...meaning everyone should have 300 tp entering the BC (can get tp by smacking whichever AA you're at the BC of) and make sure everyone has Icarus Wings...the taru must die.

2 - Bring poison potions, which are to be used right before engaging the Mithra. Havoc Spiral (I believe that's what it's called) will do AoE sleep...this will hinder your chances of killing the Mithra off fast, so bring poison pots to avoid this.

3 - Die on the steps. If your alliance is going to whipe, do so a little past the half way point of the stairs. The AA's won't aggro you from there if you are to RR, but make sure they're back in the BC and waiting for your 2nd wave before you start raising. Know that if you die in the actual BC, you're pretty screwed and useless to the alliance, since there's no way to tractor you.

GL if you guys go, it's a fun fight ^^

You'd probably want to use the poison pots before even engaging the Tarutaru, since he can cast Sleepga II.

Hehe touche, sorry about that. Yeah, I'll still help out even if I don't get an earring. Or I can possibly come with my own BC item. :-) Thanks for clearing that up for me though.

Ok how does everyone think about Saturday Oct 1st? lets say about 8PM EST and meet in jeuno. This gives everyone a week to farm up gil for items.

Listen to what the posters said, get poison potions. Also get a reraise item like the hairpin or erring or gorget. Everyone MUST have reraise. This is a serious battle to get the lv72 earring. so dont be expecting RIIIs there is simply no time and whm needs their MP for healing.

Every1 interested Post if you can come on Oct 1st, ill edit my 1st post and add in a roster of whos coming. (please note if you have a pentasphere) as for me, hopefully i can get my illumnink this weekend.

The more pentaspheres we have the more attempts we have at DM.

Ok application. BLM70 (will level my little taru heart off during the week to get as high as I can [Forecast 72 atleast]). Given that I'm up to Sky access in the ZM's if I was to get the Pentasphere is there anything else that I need. If I can go straight in without some prior mission to be activated then I'm available. Time is fine by me (anything that isn't Sunday US prime is good for the US weekends ^^).

- Im not sure on this one so give me input, what about the Opo-opo necklace for melee and gain TP while asleep b4 engaging? Is this good or a waste of a few precious minutes?

Regarding the Opo-Opo necklace, you can sleep literally outside the BC and enter the BC with TP since this is an uncapped fight. I would recommend sleeping to 300 tp outside the BC, casting all your reraises and buffs outside, as well as eating your food, and then enter w/ everyone buffed, tp'ed, and RR'd, and w/ full mp/hp. That'll save you A LOT of time. In additon, I forgot to add this in my previous post, as soon as everyone whipes (you will whipe, there are no ifs ands or buts) on the stairs and is ready to RR, have the DD equip the necklace and start sleeping ASAP (yes, that means melee should have 2 stacks of sleep potions as well as in icarus wing). By doing this, not only do you have a good shot an annihalating your next target asap, but it saves you a lot of time since you're weakened anyways, and not doing anything except waiting for everyone to become unweak. Make sure mages know not to cure the DD as soon as they RR, but rather let the DD sleep and then individually ask the mages for cures when they are done sleeping and ready to move on. In fact, might be easier for the sleeping DD to sleep in one area away from the mages, and come towards the mages when they are ready to be cured. GL ^^
