Well, Lakshmi...

You can already guess this post is about me telling you all I'm leaving the game, so I won't get all melodramatic about it. (I know I have a tendency to do that.) I just wanted everyone to know, in case someone was looking for me, or if anywone wanted to know why I hadn't been seen in a while. Yes, I'm quitting the game. But not for any reason you might think. ^_~

I'm not quitting because of boredom. In fact, the game is just as appealing to me now as it was when I first started. Moreso, in fact, because since then I've made many, many good friends and had a lot of fun. I don't regret a single moment spent in-game.
I'm not quitting because of the people. Sure, a few people get under my skin from time to time, but that occurs maybe once in a blue moon, and usually isn't that bad. The community here is a stellar one, and the people who make it up are just as awesome as they ever were!
And I'm not quitting because I'm being asked/forced to. It's just something that I've come to decide on.

I have important events up and coming in my life, events that can't be compromised by me sitting for a few hours a day in FFXI. I really want to make a 100% dedicated effort into this venture, and to do that, I need spare time, extra cash, and few commitments. I'm quitting because it allows me the extra freedom to do that. For those of you who need to know, I'm going back to work in Japan. (And maybe actually learn Japanese this time.)

You may see me around in the next few days before I sell my computer. (Need the cash) If you'd like to say "Sayonara", please do. I'd like to see all of my friends before I leave. My account, I'll arrange with my sister to keep active every 2 months or so, because I may want to come back and play.

Also, for anyone who was fortunate enough to be in Bastok Markets for "Psy's Bi-Annual 'I have to much equipment' Sales", you may want to hover around there in the next few days to make yourself a tidy packet as I sell off my unnecessary gear. ^_~

I want to say some "Thank you"s to people. I'm just about to head off to work, so this will be short, forgive me if your name is nto on this list. It doesn't mean I have any less pleasant thoughts for you. ^_^

Arathorn: I know you don't read the boards much, but I needed to write you here. You're the first person I really considered my friend in this game. You were like a mentor to me, and I'll never forget all the help, fun and advice you gave me. God bless you and your family. ^_~

Kaahi: You brought a whole new dimension to the game for me. I'm so glad I sought you out. One of my most cherished times was sitting in the dunes with you, making bets as to which low-level party member would bite the dust first in unstable parties. You've supported me and entertained me so much in my time with CantaPerMe. God bless.

Unikatze: I don't really have anything special to say to you. I just wanted you to know how much your support and friendship kept me going during the rough patches. You're just amazing. ^_~

Ayvaen: I never felt more at odds with anyone than I did with you. You riled me up a few times with your attitude, and you always seemed to talk more than you knew. But I've never felt so secure with anyone else behind me. I always knew that if I had your seal of approval, I was going ot be okay. Thank you for all you did for me.

Akuma: You suck.

Andrinor: One of the oldest friends I have. We weren't that close, I guess, but I always considered you someone I could find companionship in. I just really liked you, and that's a rare thing. ^_~ God bless you.

Bokeli: I don't care if you don't read these boards, or if you can't speak english or whatever, I just wanted you to know, you're cute, and I could ALWAYS count on your for a quick, cheap teleport. (Even some freebies, too, yay!)

Tenmiles: Thanks for putting up with me. I know I seem childish sometimes, but I appreciate the fact that you played along with my little quirks and antics. Thank you also for backing me up. It's nice to have a well-spoken person standing up for me.

To all the parties I've been involved in: Sorry for all the times I was too tired to play effectively, I know there were a few of those. I want to apologise also for all the times I feigned a disconnect when things weren't going brilliantly. I'll be the first to admit that it was a selfish thing to do, and I always secretly regret doing it. Sorry for the screwed up skillchains and the links pulled and stealing hate from the tank right after they voked. But thank you also for the well-oiled teams that powered me through from time to time. I appreciate every stroke of the blade and murmer of the spell.

Akuma: #Take2: ^_~ Rivalry and all that. You really are a great guy. I only got ticked off with you because I respect you. I hope you do great things! Take care, Akky. ^_^

CantaPerMe: ... It's as simple as, "I can't imagine FFXI without you." Not only is every single member a talented and creative player, but you gave me a home that I treasured. I couldn't have coped without you guys. The fun we had, the arguments, the discussions, the events, the roleplaying, the drama, the connecting... You firmly placed in my heart a love for community, and I adore each and every one of you. So thank you. God bless you all. ^_^

I feel bad because I can't include something for everyone I know. It's simply impossible. I have so many friends in this game, and so many people have earned my trust and loyalty. All I can do is say thank you to Lakshmi as a whole. I don't think some people appreciate just what a fantastic little community we have here.

auf Wiedersehen!

Even though our encounters were few and far between, they did light up my online life for those brief moments. Be it the power level in Gustaburg, to the dunes party where you scared everyone with your DRK'ness (omg was that a bad party). Every time we got around to talking it was fun.

I think what made it even that more special was knowing that there was another person from down here that was playing this game. When I started it was a very lonely place, but there were some rare gems that you find along the way, you were one of them.

Good luck on your adventures in Japan, and I hope for the best in your new job.. oh and learn Japanese ^^ Matane
