0/5 on Promyvion-MeaFollow

So, after another 2 failed attempts tonight, I'm wondering:
HOW DO YOU BEAT SPIRE MEA?????????????????????????

This mission seems absolutely impossible. When I did Holla, we won first try, it didn't seem that hard. I've done Mea with a number of different setups, with and without anima, and we get completely pwned each time. Without anima the AoE is enough to wipe the party. With enough Anima to stop the AoE we just weren't doing enough damage.

What's the ideal party setup for this one? What kind of anima/how many should be used? I'm starting to lose confidence that I will ever have access to Tavnazia, and it's already very late in the game for me to be stuck on this as it is.

Edit: And, to make matters worse, I need Dem also. I can do these missions as WHM BLM DRG PLD SMN BRD or WAR. If you can help me, please /t me in-game (Morwyne).

Me and Shy did it twice IIRC not too long ago won both times.

Our pty setup was : RNG(shy) RNG(andi) WHM(me) SMN(levii) WAR/NIN(brusa) PLD/WAR(tianna)

You got to have your two hours rdy >.>; and 1 or 2 animas per person.

Let him be your guide :) He's good at it ^^

If you need another summoner and you see me on, let me know. I'll help. If I remember correctly, when I finished Mea, we did it with 2 summoners (one of them me) who went nuts with Astral Flow Blood Pacts. I only got to get 2 off because the other summoner beat me to the third to finish it off.

As I see it you could have :

Shykre (rng/nin)
Andrinor (rng/nin)
Morwyne (whm/blm)
Etho (mnk/war)
Ealric (smn/whm)

missing another tank and you're good to go :)

I'm sure Shuri could be war/nin >.>;

Now you just got to set a time =) I could come as whm for the heck of being there :P I love the cute lines >.>;

I've only done it as smn so I can't say how others survive it. But I know that every time I do a mea run (pretty frequently), people die. Someone gets too close and the AoE takes them out, or the whm runs out of mp, or whatever. Just fight your own battle and let them handle theirs. If a smn can stay away from the thing and avoid pulling hate while waiting for the next astral flow, it's not too hard. And if you can get a second smn to come along, even better. Not that other jobs arent good, but smn seems to be a good closer there. Mea always seems to get a little chaotic. That's probably why it's one of my favorites. :)

P.S. It's important to think of your whm as a backup healer in promys. Eveyone should come prepared to do some of the work themselves using potions and should have macros for them.

I'm 3/3 on Promyvion-Mea (and 3/3 on Dem and Holla as well), and for my three teams, it seems that communication, animas, hi-potions, juices, and judicious use of 2-hour abilities were the key. There's probably a bit of luck thrown in as well, but good preparation is very important. I agree with someone else who mentioned that the WHM really should be thought of as a backup healer.

The party set ups were:

PLD/WAR, WHM/BLM, RNG/NIN, RNG/NIN, BLM/WHM, WAR/NIN
only 3 animas were used, the WAR/NIN (main tank) and one RNG/NIN died from two Carousels in quick succession.

PLD/WAR, RNG/NIN, WAR/THF, MNK/WAR, WHM/BLM, RDM/BLM
used 5 animas total, and no deaths

WAR/MNK, RNG/WAR, THF/RNG, BLM/WHM, WHM/BLM, SMN/WHM
used 5 psychoanimas and 5 hysteroanimas, and had no deaths
