While growing up in the game. Who had a impact, made a difference, helped out or was just a **** lol...

For me this players when i started made me want to be a a great player.

Thunderbolt- This dude used to help me out so much when i was a noob, then I passed him :o.. Great dude Thunderbolt is and a good friend i consider him.

Darkgod- haha this dude is either hated or loved. I think hes a good dude, He helped me alot when i was a noob in training, was a **** at times but so am i so i cant hold that against him lol.

Musicus- Haha i never see him anymore but 2 years ago thi sguy kept me alive in the dunes alot. Hes a bard now and rarely plays i guess. Awesome dude, his brother Damiion is a good player also.

Aarion- Me and this character here have died more than any other duo on this server i think. His constant hey lets go try and kill this **** made my playtime awesome, good friend

Leomagnus- DO NOT FOLLOW THIS MANS DIRECTIONS, hes like Stevie wonder reading the map. Leo is a great friend and i think i did 90% of my lvling with this guy from war in the dunes to blm and whm in sky awesome friend.

Post some people that helped you out and get through times where you wanted to quit or just helped.

Odiin: Invited me to my first party ever (back like 2 days after NA relese) and handed me my first LS pearl. Left me in the dust quick but allways checked up on me everyonce and a while.

Jordin: Being a great guy and helping me out so much. I had quit to play another game for 3 months, when I came back he was one of the few who were genuinly happy to see me.

Malessa: For being a great leader, and always keeping his cool (even tho I am sure he has come closes sometimes). Always respected his tanking abilitys (even tho he is a thief O.O) glad he only kills me once in a while :P

Ever since seeing Hank, Yul and I have referred to that model as the "Hank" model.... The name suits it ^^

Seeing the timezone diff I didn't have many NA players I looked up to, but those that I did are well known.

Tenmiles: He was just everywhere, and seemed like a nice guy from what I had seen on the boards.

Pax: BLM (what more can I say, nah), always was around windy when I saw her.

Those are about the only names that stood out sorry ; ;

Watusa - The wacky and hilarious Elvaan that always made people laugh. Back when I first saw him I was naught but a lowly newbie WHM. But he still made an impression on me, and since then everytime I encountered him, I secretly admired him and his wit. Great guy to be around. He's also *the* person solely responsible for my switch and love of being a Monk. Him going one-on-one with a water elemental barefisted in his fishing gear on the Selbina/Mhaura ferry, and handing out a beat down with Raging Fists (first time I ever saw that weaponskill)... it was great! I decided since then to become a Monk so I can do Raging Fists as well.

Tenmiles - Most humble and wise Monk both in game on the Lakshmi server, and on this forums. Gotta love them Elvaan Monks. He doesn't hesitate to come help me when I ask in game for his help, even when we were just strangers. Tanked my WHM AF Body and MNK AF Body for me. I envy his ability to have fun and avoid all the endgame drama, and his attitude towards the whole game... I aspire to be like him one day, minus the Mithra RSE wearing part.

Fouryu - Just a semi-friend. Being a 75DRG way before I even hit level 50 with my WHM, and then soon after a 75RNG and probably now to be a 75NIN, he never looked down on us newbies, and also offered lots of help.

Ladydare - Same thing, only she still says {Good night!} to me everytime she logs off. Wicked PLD, super friendly. Also doesn't hesistate to help when I ask. The fact she's also Canadian and lives only 3-hours by car away from me = bonus.

I await the day when I get high enough in level to help out Tenmiles and Ladydare. Until then, I am in their debt.

I'm glad I decided to randomly check the allah forums today. Thanks man, that means a lot to me, never realized people thought about me that way. I always thought they took me as "that annoying guy who's always on the ship talking" ^^; People like you are what makes me keep playing this game, I tried coming back but my house went into renavations and haven't been able to use my tv in my room since June, but I think I'll go find a another tv in the house so I can sign on so my account won't expire just so I can be the community I loved to be with.

Who I looked up to when i first started was a NIN I met on a boat named Durason. I was in awe of his AF so I proceeded to ask him some questions on the game and he was very helpful. 3-4 months after that incident I was invited to a LS that he just happened to be in. He was one of the most helpful guys on the server and knew everything about NIN(Yes, the great Monk Watusa was a fiesty ninja before he gave into the passion of punching monsters:P)

When I switched to MNK there was a higher lvl MNK in my LS, I don't quite remember his name though but he quit the game and came back as Stormwarden. I always asked him questions and he helped me out with my MNK experience. Also a bunch of the other monks I met along the way of partying were helpful, when I was in a party with another Monk we always helped eachother out and gave eachother tips. What kept me going was my kind party members who would compliment me on the job I did in their party as a MNK, I used to get many "Wow, I never realized how good a MNK can do" which made my day. I realized once I started getting higher in level I tended to not care about the community as much and just on how "good" I can become and I started to become somewhat of an assclown, that's when the game lost my interest. Now I've realized what made that game fun and want to play again, too bad I have this obstacle in the way =P

Earnhardt:
Truly one of the nicest guys I've ever met on here. We met when I was but a noobling, and he was a high and mighty lvl 60 paladin. This guy never hesitated to help me in whatever I asked, and single-handedly funded every one of my solo Avatar battles.

Gessyca:
Kinda' lost touch with her, unfortunatly. We were great friends, and she was my RDM idol. She helped me out all the time, and I never really got a chance to thank her...One day she just decided we weren't friends anymore, I guess... /cry

Eragon:
We have a lot of rocky times, and he can be sorta' an *******, but we're great friends. Who else lets a random lvl 25 Thief wear your Strider Boots while hunting Leaping Lizzy? We sometimes play eachother's accounts, just for a break from our own, but not so much anymore. He continues to be a wonderful friend, and my Info-Booth for the "High-Lvl Stuff".

Minimimi:
God I love this girl; I don't even know if she understands what I'm saying half the time (From Hong Kong), but she never fails to put a smile on my face. We kinda' have that type of friendship where, you don't even have to be talking, to know you're great friends.

Tenmiles:
Oh come now? Do you really need me to explain? This guy is truly my idol. He enjoys the game, because he enjoys it. He isn't interested in being the best, only having fun. I wish more people were like him.

Rilariel:
Very, very helpful person for RL things. Unfortunatly he was shipped off to training camp, and should be sent to Iraq soon. Come back saftely Ril!

Sorry If I forgot your name...I know there are people I forgot, I just know it. As the auto-translator would put it;

{Please Forgive me.}

Growing up in the dunes I was lucky enough to have my RL best friends teach me the ropes. Iamjobe and Cerverus have helped and taught me more than I could even hope to explain on these boards. Another RL friend Jagang has truly been the guru when it came to his tremendous knowledge of the game.

My first LP came from Ferrig/ShadowSaints. I always considered him a great friend.

And can't forget Angellus. Without my favorite two-headed monster I wouldn't have the great convos that got me through the level grind.

There are so many others I could name, but I'd be writing all night. I try to learn from each person I meet even if don't agree with them. So with that said, I actually would have to thank all of Lakshmi. /bow

Jersey,
We started around the same time and he just blew through lvls, but alway remained nice though we didnt keep in touch much.

Suspect,
When I was lvling my drk through yuhtunga he was lvling thf and was by far the best puller I have ever seen. 4 hours not 1 gobbie aggro. When I saw him in the 70's I decided to start lvling thf.

Zoya,
When I was coffer key hunting in Eldieme necropolis she was hanging around our party destroying any lower lvl skeles that didnt drop coffer keys and clearing the way for us.

Thalyn,
A great friend who was always up for a mission. I was a 45DRK rank 3 and thalyn got me to rank 5. Always up for helping people. Even left parties to help out the ls with something as small as a subjob quest. He got me most of my subjobs as well. Even though he was only a few lvls above me (and I eventually passed him before he quit) He was an awesome guy. I wish everyone on this server was like him.

Orefise,
Super ls leader and mom (even though shes just a few years older than me) ^^ Always around to help out. We partied for the first time against robber crabs in kuftal tunnel and I saw what a great whm she was. We became friends and she was always there to get me out of jams. /cheer for Altana's Tears house of Light.

You know the story. Newbie days, world's huge-r than anything you've ever seen outside Morrowind, filled with thousands of people from everywhere. I'm running through Buburimu as a level 13 Mithra WHM (Ninomori), subless, nonetheless. Out of nowhere, this Goblin Yakuza whips out his glock and polishes a nearby rock with the innards of my skull. In enters a nameless Mithra White Mage. I can't remember her name for the life of me, but next thing I knew I got hit with a raise! Probably like my second raise ever. Well she quickly sneaks me up, attracting the attention of the Goblin. He was pretty pissed. She fights it off barely, and stealths me up and we scramble outta the place. She seemed just like me. New and excited.

"You know, we get frowned at because we're popular, and those people that yell at us also come crying to us. But you gotta keep a smile on your face and welcome those naysayers back with open arms. That's how we white mages work. ^_^"

I'm no longer a White Mage, but I've taken those (not exact, this was over a year ago) to heart. To the nameless Mithra who saved me that day... Altana bless you.

Hm...

Well, first would have to be Lunar. I knew him before the game so it's not like he's my idol XD But he started a week before me, and ever since I've joined he's always been a few steps ahead of me... so therefor he was also the first person I went to bug for help =P Now that I've finally almost caught up with him I might be able to do stuff with him rather than always being helped by him XD

Tenmiles.. well, people have mentioned him already. Not only a high level Monk, but a really nice guy too. And an Elvaan Monk from Windurst like me, how could I -not- look up to him? I've spoken to him a few times, and although I don't really -know- him, he's helped me out many times already, just because he likes to help out. AF3, 6-2, Asuran Fists, couldn't have done them without him.

And of all the OMG SUPER HIGH LEVEL! people, Zoya would be the first to come to mind. Moreso someone to look up to in the recent levels than the newbie days, but she has all of that amazing endgame gear that every Monk dreams of having some day. And she always /cheers and /claps random Monks in the street, it's nice to see from someone you look up to =)

When I first started there was a player called Wingchild, he taught me everything at first and never made fun of me or called me a noob (something which I will always appreciate). He plays on Carbuncle server now, but he's truly one of the nicest people out there.

Weenie and Chronos I always looked up to as examples of how to play my job. Not to mention that they were both always nice and helpful to everyone around them.

Illidon was the most selfless player I ever met, and I looked up to his ability as a player and his kindness as a person.

Bane is someone I looked up to because even though he was high level, he didn't really flaunt it, and he always had time for a friend no matter what.

What player did I look up too? Hmmm...hands down that would be Damyen. (HI D!!!) There have been dozens of helpful people along the way, but Damyen has been my friend and mentor since I began playing FFXI. Whether it was quest, missions or just PL-ing my jobs. And all the members of "AuronsGuard" are awesome and extremely helpful. So this was a great thread and a positive one for a change. It gives me an chance to thank Damyen again for all the help and patience with me. Thank you thank you !!!!

Aurin - He was the first high-leveled guy I ever met. He helped me out with a mission or two, gave me some pointers, and let me into my very first LS, where I met more people...

Kaya - She was very fast to get to 75. She was a good role model, though. I dunno, I just really liked her. Looked up to her like a big sister. Then she quit.

Diamondelle - She was quick to replace that GAP IN MY HEART that Kaya left. ^^ Another high-leveled girl, wise with computers, and a very big-sisterly kinda attitude. She was very admirable. Recently quit. ; ;

Alveen - She out-leveled me by a long shot. Though, she deserved to. She's smarter and much more dedicated than me. I still look up to her a lot. She's my best friend <3

Guided Light Probably all of my LS members, who were mostly my peers since I joined the game after they did, about 3-4 months after the NA release. They've all taught me alot of things, especially Sillia and Karyn (the original one) who were way ahead of the game and always willing to help out on my AF/missions.

Kaya Ninja grrrl who I met through Sillia. She was extremely friendly and didn't hold any airs, let me join Realm of Chaos (old Dynamis LS) and even invited me to the original AI (to which I had to decline due to lack of time). She even took some time out to help me and my small JP alliance for RDM AF3. </salute> Always remembered.

Bane I didn't know him personally, but always read in awe his forum posts which, to me, almost always made sense in an unequivocally absolute way.

Dither I guess, this guy was one of the first few people that I saw around who had multiple jobs in AF. Again, I don't know him personally, but it was cool to see one guy have so many high level jobs...

I think I've worked hard to reach the level of my peers, and reflecting on the things I've achieved... I can honestly say that it was only through their excellent examples and guidance that I wanted to reach for the skies. So, here's a </salute> to my heroes/heroines, some of which are no longer in Vanadiel, but live forever in Kysha's heart. (And perhaps even a tiny picture in her Mog House. o.Ob)

** OREFISE ... Gave me my very first raise, and later became a person I grew to ADMIRE!!! oh yeah you too BPP

** Sleekmotorwurkz Crafted and signed my SCORPIANS HARNESS +1 and too became a mentor for me even though I had passed him as a thief for a bit, SLEEK YOU ARE THE MAN!!!

** ARC OF LEGENDS LS Gave me a home after an abrupt ending to another LS. Helped me be in a static party from lvl 40-60 THF. Alot of great people who have become like family to me. Half of this LS would help me camp SOZU ROGBERRY for free knowing I really want the THIEF´s KNIFE!!! Rhianna, Majik, Sleek, Chuco, Concreteman, Tarnished, Draygorn! I appreciate your kindness and I think you are all awesome!

** Tab He helped me progress in this game as I was a noob. He seemed to always be around at the right time! even when I was a struggling low level WHM! Thanks TAB!!!

** To Whom I have helped along the way, I do not remember half the people I have helped, but it is from the people above to why I help people the way I do! They are great people and great mentors. I think I am a better person in real life for the TRUE friendships they have shown me..... TRUE FRIENDS ARE HARD TO COME BY!!! Thanks to each and everyone of you again, for you are all AWESOME!!!

** Jersey, last but definately not least. He had some great insight to help me and others I know accomplish missions even if he could not help. He was always curteous and even though I know he had heard the same question over and over and over and over again never seemed to have lost his temper even though he may have been cussing us at his house infront of his screen. To you Jersey I want to say THANK YOU!!! See you soon!

heh, not posting often, but here i go :

Orefise : lovely and helpfull <3 She casts the sweetest cures ever. It was awesome to party with her everyday for weeks.

Senjo : he hasted my MNK from 58 to 75, he's the best RDM I know, and really funny guy. Nothing he can't accomplish, really.

Cheucheu : badass NIN, very cool guy, buddy since a few weeks after I started playing.

Fahna : when we met, he was following my MNK's steps, then he catched me and got 75 before i did lol. Great player, great guy.

Kyubi : I learnt most MNK end-game stuff from him. Great guy.

Zoya : helped me gettinf AFs, and for many other things. A very good exp buddy. I saw him tank Behemoth yesterday, poor little beast...

Evilsoul : great player, good friend, very good crafter, sometimes it seems he's JP, seeing how he gets jobs to high-level very fast.

Gregg : One of the best PLDs I know, great tanking, huge knowledge of the game, awesome Dynamis puller, great guy.

Many other people, but here are the first that came to mind.

I've been around awhile and seen alot of faces come and go... but out of all of them the ones that I looked up to the most are:

Lenwe - he was the leader of the first shell I was in, GryphonGuild. When I joined as a lvl 5whm/no sub, he was in his mid 20's. During my growing up time as whm, he was always there for the people in his LS and always was there when someone needed him. In fact... he still is.

Destroyer - my best in game friend... he's my partner in crime, and one of the most helpful people I know. When I could barely afford a chocobo he helped me out with funds here and there. He is always on hand for the others he considers a friend... and honestly the best war/nin I know.

Jersey - I have always looked up to him as a fellow whm. He knew what he was doing and did it well. He would always lend a good suggestion or comment when asked and had ALOT of helpful advice.

Aslaan - I've known him since we were both in our mid 50's. He has always been a good friend and I believe one of the most helpful people on this server.

Sharps - the "King of XPers" until I really started talking to him... I never heard anyone say "I actually enjoy XPing" His zeal for xp actually drove me to lvl up faster, and actually enjoy it.

Bastila - {Mega Boss} {White Mage} 'nough said.

thx whoever said me i appreciate it.

this last weekend i was lvling ninja i came across 3 great parties. it turned out that alot of the mebers needed af1 and that job was there highest. now i have done some **** in my playtime. like 123409e8743587 genkai1, same for genkai2 numerous coffer keys but 1 people stick out in my mind that made me feel good.

Dannick- nneded rdm af1. well after he aggrod 98% of davoi and died, i decided to go kill the NM while he was dead and let key sort to him via me passing. well after I aggrod 98% of davoi with the NM Dannick said please dont die your way too helpful for that. when he said that it made me feel real good for helping so good luck to him. its not always the people who helped us who make us feel good, the people we help can do the same.
