I'm just so surprised how easy my BRD is coming along...Maybe it's destiny that my main should be BRD LOL. I'm wondering where all the BRDs are at...it's such an awesome job how come there's so few of us? Plus it's cheap so I don't have to worry about my #1 problem in this game (gil...ohhh gil)

I'm currently a 32-33 BRD (I don't quite remember where) looking for some wisdom and advice. I want to know what's going to be ahead of me partying as a BRD, and what use they are in higher levels. I know that BRDs are sparse but can anyone name some kickass BRDs I can turn to for insight?

Well Im the same level as you... and as for BRD being cheap.... I can say yes and no.

Hank is a nice bard.

Cheap yes: heres why: Our songs are often sold in shops at a low price (only hiked up on the jeuno AH)
Instruments are sold by NPCs and not crafted.
You dont need much armor to protect yourself

Expensive: If you got to BRD32 and say its cheap then you probably skipped on a lot of important pieces of equipment.

Monster Signa: not necessary against mobs on which you level since resist rate will be low. But its a nice sign of dedication.
Siren Flute: Beats the old flute+1 and is about 20-30k. +1 requiem isnt spectacular but it helps.
RSE: (if youre a hume it pays) Doesnt cost anything if you quest it, but it takes time
Military Harp: MAGIC FINALE... every little bit helps, you dont want that mob to stay buffed (go to garrison
+1 instruments: again every little bit helps.

Its your choice, just like every job bard can be expensive or not, its the fine line between uber and cool. Just dont be a BRD/THF or only use a harp please!

Gobbiebags: These are your best friend. I only did Gobbie 1 and thats has helped me a ton. The 5 extra inventory space allow me to carry my instruments and leave more room for pies (hmm pie) Before Id have room for 1-2 stacks of pies now I have 4 stacks (all+1s) so I can level a few days without bothering to come back home.

Just keep walking the good path.

BRD is pretty cheap. You will need to spend some money at lvl 51 for earth and light staves, and maybe a monster signa before then. But, any costs can be easily paid for w/ BCNM. Just find a bunch of friends from your LS with lvl 40+ jobs, and seals, and go on a few dozen BCNM runs with them.

Oh, forgot to mention, Military Harp is a waste of money, as you never get resists on Finale. I'm a 56 bard currently, and I havent seen finale resisted once. It doesn't remove multiple buffs, so its not gonna help you there. You might wanna get it when you start doing HNMs, as I heard they tend to resist a lot.

Okay there's only one main thing that's keeping me from total Bardness...GIL.

I was thinking of camping both Torrent and Mary for their drops...is Mary's Horn worth camping? And if so...is there anyone out there willing to help me? Because there's no way in h3ll that I can take on Mary by myself...and I've only seen her once waaaaay back when I was playing on my current-mule. I'm just a little discouraged camping them because so many high lvls hog up the area...and I'm like.../cry

I really want a Monster Signa. I know that Siren's Flute can be quested...am I right? I also need to get rid of my onyx jewelry and get some serious equipment.

I also need to find someone who can make Chamonille Teas, I heard those help BRD stats...because if I remember right pies lower CHR.

I want to be moderately equipped until lvl 40, do a heck load of BCNMs to roll in some gil, and then super-equip myself. BRDs don't generate too much hate, but I do want to know what instruments would be awesome for me.

I current bought a traversiere yesterday...I'm now down to 7K.

And I'm just about to do Hume F RSE this Saturday with a friend who's willing to help. I'm going to get the shorts first, I want to see how it looks with a gambison. I've got the schedule for the other RSEs, is there anyone out there willing to do bodyguard duty?
