Post here on different pronunciations for areas, items, monsters, etc...

Like for the longest time, i thought it was valkRum, not valkuRm. And i've always wondered whether the votary's have accent on VOtary or voTary. Hmm... just something to ponder.

I just realized a couple nights ago that I had been misreading (and thus mentally mispronouncing) the Elshimo regions. I had always thought it was "Elishimo" ^.^;;

ha everyone i know irl that plays the game calls it Qwifum, even though I've pointed out how it's spelled many times... but how would you pronounce it anyway? Queue-Fim? But yeah, I'm guilty of calling it Valkrum in the beginning as well. I mispronounce everything in the game because I think they spelled everything wrong :P

Thank god for auto translator. I ***** up names in this game all the freaking time. I got a kick out of the original poster, it was just recently pointed out its Valkurm to me as well.

Qwuifim
Elshmo
Eldemeen Necropolis
Sara-tuba
Tah-hon-gri Canyon
Sandora
Valkrum
Boyda
etc etc

I dunno some of em may be right, but most are probably wrong.

Votary is pronounced like notary.

Yagudo Notaries come from an alternate dimension Vanadiel, where instead of the Yagudo being a devout and zealous religious society, they are instead a devout and zealous legal society.

Watch out for Yagudo Judges, Yagudo Advocates, Yagudo Prosecutors, and Yagudo Personal Injury Attorneys.

Anyway, he says mah-HEER-ah and I say MAH-rah (silent H)

    Anyone know the correct pronounciation?

~EDIT~ ps... I thought everyone said Qufim as Qwi-fum lol

Oo... I'm sorry... I'm from there, I like it there, but I am not calling my country bass-toook... eww! I'll go with Bass-TOK, thank you very much. Thank goodness this is a text game, or I'd be driven insane by the "correct" pronunciation. >shudder<

Well, I'm a linguist at heart, so I generally make sure whatever I'm saying is the correct pronounciation. Many of my friends still say "Quif-fimm" for Qufim, and despite my desire to correct them, I refrain.

But I'm not perfect. Thanks to initially reading the title wrong, I called La Theine Plateau "La Thienne". Not a biggie, but annoying to a perfectionist. ^_^

^^ I thought it was pronounced like Jew-no

I'm going to keep pronouncing things the way I think I'm meant to anyway, it's not like anyone (other than one or 2 of my RL friends) actually hears me say them, it's mostly just in my head...

Damn, right! All hail Kaahi's avatar for correct spelling! Send me gil.

I think we all know by now that Kaahi is some kind of demi-god, if not god in entirity. The proof is in her amazing talent when it comes to animated goodery, one could swear she had some golden blood running through her immortal veins. So she cannot be wrong, at all, nuh-uh, never ever, not on your nelly. It's just not in the cards... baby. Nope. Send me gil.

Henceforth, I propose we all live according to Kaahi's teachings, because as long as we're discussing relevant, topical information, we may as well base our facts solely on the incontestable knowledge that Kaahi has to share with us via multimediary manner. For someone as illustrious and divinely enviable as she could never steer us wrong, not when she produces absolute masterpieces like that one where the WHM hacks up the thing with the thing... Send me gil.

... This sounds like I'm being sarcastic, and I am a little, but not much because I genuinely like Kaahi and her avatars ARE fantastic, I think I've just had one too many White Clouds this evening and I'm lacking in judgement. Send me gil.

P.S. There's a secret message throughout this post, and it bears great fortune for anyone who can decipher it and discover it's secrets! It's well hidden, as I'm very smart, and I'm sure only those of you who are truly intelligent will follow it's sage advice. Look closely! ^_^

    ...

    Send me gil.
