Hell there's a Black List and a White List, why not a Gilfarmer List.

Ok I will start with two that I know are dodge (I will re-edit when people post new info):

Zooe*
Magic*

ZOOE: I saw the Zooe's when they were just lvl10, now they are grown up and still doing the same thing. They stuck in the same ground hanging around Lathine until about 18-20 then they went to Valkrum and did the same thing. Now I'm not 100% sure if these guys are Gil Farmers or just people that are raising random characters up and then change their name using certain exploits. Since their names kinda take reference to what class they are, this whole setup is kinda strange to understand.

MAGIC: I partied with them last night, a friend and I did. Could hardly speak that much english, they also had a guy helping them, a high level BLM. I hope that I got screenshots last night so I can find out and announce who he was. Either he was paied to PL them, or he's in league with them. Anyhow they are all Galka Warriors wearing the same gear, same weapons, etc. Partying with them is ok, if you like stopping every so often for them to run back and deposit their stuff ; ;. Yeah we only play for the EXP so we will party with anyone :P

Those that I've heard about but havn't dealt with them so if someone can help clarify if they are or are not.

Rose*

ROSE: I heard that this group was actually legit but I've also heard reports that they are Gil farmers.

Now for the final thing, what are we going to do with these guys? Are you allowed to dedicate a few days to training high mobs to where they are and just warping out to leave them deal with a pack of mob's 10 levels higher than them. Gilfarming though it might not effect us individually, it effects the community as the price of stuff goes up because there's more money in circulation etc. Just my random thoughts... if anyone has more down to earth an not death by train ideas feel free to speak.

Happynewyear- Constantly logging and has raised the price on Elms from 3000 to 4000. There is also a Happynewyear doing the same thing on Siren I believe.

The Magic crew that Argonaut mentioned: I saw the 3 subjob-less lvl 23 Galka WARs in Delkfutt tower this past week. Their names were "Magickong", "Magicsong", and "Magiclong" (I might be a little off, but all their names started with "Magic" and ended with "ong"). Everything about them looks a bit too cookie-cutter for them to be Joe-average-players. It'll be interesting to keep an eye on them, so see if they get turned into DRG/WARs, who are then sent off to farm 24/7.

I've also noticed Dik, Luckly, Lovebaby and Lalol spending an inordinate amount of time farming and mining. They are all lvl 49 and 50 DRG/WARs. It was quite interesting watching them lvl as a party of 4 DRG/WARs. I watched them at around lvl 48 lvling on Soldier Crawlers and Flies in Crawler's Nest. When your party is 4 DRGs and nothing else, I guess you have to pick your mobs carefully and settle for mediocre exp. At the Nest, there was also a Taru mage in /anon mode that was quasi-PLing them. Whenver I do a search for these 4 DRGs, I notice that Toy is in a zone with one of them. Sometimes, he's in Jeuno offereing Teleport services. I'm guessing he's part of their gil farming group.

As far as the Rose* characters, I think there is one that's part of the *envoy gil farming group (i.e. Rosenvoy, Icenvoy, Firenvoy, Forcenvoy, yada yada).

What can we do? There's little we can do to stop their farming efforts without totally ruining our own time in the game. As long as there are gil buyers, there will be gil sellers. Don't buy gil, and convince others not to buy gil.

I've seen the voys around...never talked to them though.

It's so hard making gil that it looks very tempting to buy it.

But aren't gil sellers the reason why things are so expensive?

Update on the Magic* Family.

I saw them on a the ship to Kazham last night and manged to get into a party with them. 3 Galka Wars, with lvl 1-5 subjobs, with a LVL 50 BLM doing PL. Very broken english, seemed like 1 or 2 people were controlling them - mostly using /assist commands.

I didn't really want to xp with them due to the fact of possible Gil Farmers, but it beats no party at all. They are probably around lvl 28+ by now.

What about the Aneue(sp?) pt that was in Ordelles Cave for a month? Last check of PH on Archers Ring showed her selling 7 of the 10 for 560k each, total of 3.3 million. I'm not sure if they fall under the gil farmer tribe but that's insane.

I think we all farm for gil. I mean it's not the only thing I do. But I have to make money somehow, so a good two or three days a week when I play it is spent farming for things to sell so I can make gil. I harvest because I'm also in clothcraft, and can use the stuff I don't sell. It's kept me alive, but barely. This is a hard game to make gil in, but I guess that is part of the fun of it.

The Aneue party spoken of is 6 player accounts that can be found camping Stroper Chyme in Ordelle's Cave pretty much 24/7. The names of the others are something like Bshilei, Ktiele, Shileia, Smallbaby and Yunaa. Ever since I noticed this group camping Chyme, the price of Archer's Rings has gone up from 420k to over 550k. If there was any doubt that these accounts were gil farmers, as opposed to average players taking time to farm, it was erased by the following observations:
1. None of them wore linkpearls. All 6 players are in their 50s, and none of them belong to a linkshell? Surely, inventory space shouldn't be the issue (it's not like Archer's Ring drops all the time). And as boring as it is to camp anything for any amount of time, if they did belong to a linkshell, you'd think at least *one* of them would be using one.
2. Most of them wore crappy gear. For a group that's making a killing on Archer's Rings, you'd think they'd be able to afford good stuff. Instead, you'll find gear like Onyx Earrings.

Organized gil farmers, doing their stuff 24/7, can lead to making it harder on regular players due to the following:
- If the gil farmer camps an NM, or even a regular mob that has a high price drop (e.g. Stroper Chyme or Spook), this makes it more difficult for regular players to engage in the same activity, to the point where those options are eliminated as possible ways to earn gil.
- If the gil farmers exercise monopolistic control over a certain drop, players are forced to pay a higher price on that item. Archer's Ring is a perfect example. Since one gil farming group dominates the supply of Archer's Rings, they exercise significant market power over the price of Archer's Rings (which also affects the price of Snipers Rings).
- If the gil farmers can't control the market on a specific item, they may very well undercut the market. There are at least 3 gil farming groups that use mining as their way of raising gil. If they continue this practice 24/7, there will be more ore of all sorts on the market than normal, causing the price of ores to drop. This is good for players who need these ores for synthing. But this hurts players who are relying on occasional mining to raise gil.

I am just really sick of seeing Gil Farmers just about anywhere I go in the game. Whenever I farm/mine/fish/etc, I see players are obiously just there to make gil. And when I go to lvl, I see even more gil farming accounts being created.

I had my first experience with Rosenvoy the other ngiht as I was minning in Yughotto Ghrotto, at first I thought nothing of them I was just runnign around doing my normal routine and saw tehm running around killing orcs. How ever, I normally am randomply moving the directional pad on my controller to try and identify Minning Points when I see one pop up and quickly dissappear, sure enuf the next thing my cursor picks up is Rosenvoy. Once again I think nothing of it until another miner enters and begins /shout that Rosenvoy is stealing his spots. I /shout back that the Minning Courtesy is now lifted on Rosenvoy, to which I get no response, notmally you get some snide remark back saying f#%$ off but nothing, I then send a /tell telling them the Minning Courtesy, and once again no response. To this day if u do a /sea all you will find them in yughutto ghrotto.

Another of our 24/7 gil farmers is Kineku in Koroloka Tunnel. I try to come face to face with the Morion Worm atleast once a day jsut for the sheer sport of it (not to mention I one day would like to be able to afford the Kote for my SAM cuz that is just one thing I wll never be able to steal away from the botters >.<) how ever for the past week I've noticed that this guy/gal/it is there 24/7 well minus the 15 minutes it takes to run out to the AH, which I do believe he/she/it now has friends helping out there, all lvl 50DRG/25THF. I first tried being friendly about it first commenting abouthow more ppl seem to be camping the spots and they responded "yup, lots ppl coming in" I then logged for 3 hours and when I came back Kineku was once again there so I sent another /tell saying wow it isn't gettin any better, how ever this time they responded in chinese (which I speak at a childish rate) I don't understand plz repeat. Hmmmmm..... It just upsets me how these ppl are messing up this game. >.< How ever I did find out a way to beat these guys to the pop so I feel a little better.

But yup those are the Gil Farmers that I know of... ::sigh::

I was reading this thread and other threads about Gil Famers and started wondering, what happen to all the threads ******** about the Japanese NM voke botters! :) I haven't that seen dead horse beaten in a couple months. Have the Chinese, Russian, and [insert other third world country] professional players beat them out? Anyhow...

How many people have signed up to be Gil Farmer Hunters? I doubt there are enough players interested in bothering with them to ruin them. Maybe slow them down for a day but you'd have to camp them the whole time.

I'm not high enough in levels to do anything about it but everyone who posted here (must be at least 4 level 50+) should get together go do something and then come back to tell us about their success or failure. That would be some interesting reading. :)

The problem is not with farming for gil. The problem is doing nothing else in the game but making money to sell to a company as your RL job. This hurts ALL people out there in your lower lvls because everytime you go somewhere there is that same person farming. And for higher lvls, theres crafting and honestly all sorts of other ways to make money. When you were a new player what would it have been like to not make the money because someone was there killing stuff 24/7. Especially considering you spent that money on your crafting, gardening etc..

Last rant on a serious topic for me: What about all the Europe and maybe sometime soon Australia and New Zealand players... what will happen when they start playing? imagine if you will.

Didn't see the last thread, but why be the second person to bump it u.. could have referenced it. Anyhow... I'm not for them or against them, they don't bother me too much, but I don't like to see the game exploited in this way.

Umm yeah the Magic* are lvl 30 with 1-5 subs atm.

Yeah we all "farm" for gil, but only a select few do it for sale in RL
