Well, just wanted to say how great of a time I had leveling last night. Went from level 13-18 in 5 hours, for a total of 19k exp. I was partied up with Ungai and Evlon, great guys, great party members. If u see them in game, tell them Godlike says high. Also, I was astonished to learn that no one levels in Korroloka Tunnel. This place is great for leveling, I just dont understand why hundreds flock to dunes for minimal exp and noobish parties. Worms are incredibly easy in Korroloka, and if u have a few NIN, as our party did, then you almost dont even need a healer from levels 17-19. Can anyone explain why this place is so deserted, other than the fact that its centered in Bastok? Thanks again Ungai and Evlon.

Why is it so deserted? If youre coming from Windy its quite a long and boring trip to Bastok... Same from Sandy...

Bastok is far from a LOT of things (or so it seems add +1 zone to go everywhere) + the North Gusta rift adds even more time.

So Korrolaka is the little gift to Bastok from SE. Not too mention Rabao which is nearby.

OK, im not talking about the walk from windy or sandy. I mean comon, to get there from windurst, it's a total of 20-30 minutes if u take the boat. Sandy is only like 20 minutes away, assuming u dont get urself killed, but if u cant make that trip then god help you. I partied with three Japanese Players, and they have no problem walking the distance. Whereas when I try to get hooked up with some English parties, everyones too afraid to try something they dont know, or make excuses like, " It's too far" or " Valkurm's better". I've even had players that have their advanced jobs, and are rank 3-4 + and decline, all English, I've never had a Japanese player decline. Hmmmm odd. Do English players think this place is owned by Japanese party's? Anyways, at least if all the ppl around level 14-19 in Bastok went there, assuming they want to level, shoudn't there be more than 10-20 ppl in there at a time? Or maybe it's because of inexperience, new players aren't familiar with it. Just a guess.

it's the same reason why everyone prefers constant aggro and overcamping in yuhtunga jungle. it took me 2 hours to get a pt to go to batallia downs, and they absolutely loved it.
i love korroloka tunnel. when i get my new character high enough to go, i will definitely go there.
the people who don't want to explore places like korroloka tunnel are the same people who refuse to allow different job/subjob combinations into their pt IMO; they just refuse to explore....simple....

from levels 24-25 you fight mostly sabretooth tigers.
once you hit level 26 you find yourself a nice camp (usually near entrance to eldieme necropolis) and go for gobs. the gob smithies, furriers, shamans, and pathfinders are usually easier than the ones in yuhtunga/yhoator. they give about the same amount of XP.
if you find a good place you can easily get up to XP chain #5.
things will get slow once you hit level 28-29.
if that happens just move closer to jugner forest area and use tigers to start a chain and fight orcs. this will keep you good until level 30-31.
if you're wondering "but why batallia downs? if more people pt in the jungles?" the reason is quite simple:

1)YUHTUNGA AND YHOATOR JUNGLES ARE SEVERELY OVERCROWDED AND OVERCAMPED (this alone should be reason enough)
2)constant aggro from gobs while trying to find mandies. how many times do you see /sh gob train to zone! in the jungles?
3)a good camp is hard to find. how many times in yhoator have you fallen asleep because the mandy that the pt next to you is fighting did a sleepga?
4)sabretooth tigers give good drops ^.^
5)EVERYONE camps mandies in the jungles. do you REALLY want to sit around and fight with other parties over a mob? why not fight something else? i can almost guarantee that there'll be hardly anyone fighting over gobs and orcs in batallia downs.

after that you can go to yhoator (and finish up with the rest of the mindless people who don't explore the game), but
you don't have to do this! you can go back to yuhtunga and fight opo-opos (little monkey looking guys in northern jungle). if not, you can go south like you're going to sea serpent grotto and fight pugils and sahagins. these mobs can get you to about level 35-37 fairly easily.
but guess what?

there's more!

once you get between 37-38 you can and hunt soldier crawlers in the jungle. yes....there are crawlers there. it might be good to have a ranger to help scan for them. but if not you can head to yhoator and fight gob poachers, traders, reapers, etc. once you get high enough, you can try fighting the tonberries. these will all get you level 40-44 with no problem (well the tonberries might be a tad hard).
i dunno about fighting the overgrown rose. even when they con as even match, they still pack a nasty punch.
hopefully people will find it in their hearts to explore a little.
it's funny because last night in valkurm dunes (on my way to korroloka) someone in my pt called me a noob because i didn't have a subjob yet. i said i was only level 14 and couldn't get the subjob quest yet. he said "you're still a stupid noob. i have a level 50 blm/whm!". i told him "if i'm such a noob, why are you in valkurm looking for pt?" i booted him and found someone else.
needless to say we got a good pt over in korroloka tunnel and everyone got their level ^.^
