Last night while partying in Korrolaka tunnel I found the gil farmers levelling up.

Here is the party description:

5 Warriors
1 WHM

All the warriors were wielding Polearms. All had the same equip except for one small difference; every party member (well the wars) had a piece of +1 equip. i.e. One had +1 armor one had +1 legs one had +1 boots.

They were fighting clippers in the tunnel (not really bothering me, my party was fighting worms)

There is one person who wasnt /anon a lvl 25 War of the group who would talk to me somewhat erratically asking if I was NA or JP. Wasnt harassing or anything seemed nice claimed to be multiboxing.

I asked are you multiboxing using 6 computers?
Answer: Yes I play 6 chars

I dont think they are bots ( a simple macro can make all the wars attack) But expect them in Delkfutt as Dragoons sometimes in the month. They seemed to level pretty fast too.

I just need a place to host the screenshots of such a feat. (yes im on the pictures...) If anyone is interested please reply.

Their names are on the picture. The crab got owned, no questions asked.

Wow I bet that was a sight to see. Thats a neat idea if you have 6 computers to do so. You can even use this technique to do mining or fishing. I can just imagine have 6 different characters scattered throughout the mining points of a mine.

Yeah, someone in my LS was telling me about them running around. He said they didn't have sub jobs, and were all levelling toward 30, to get DRG, and then spend all of thier time in Delkfutts.

Funny... he said they were in Korraloka...
And the guy in my LS was... SHYKRE!!

It's probably not someone with too much time & money. It's most likely someone working for a "company" which pays for everything, they level up, camn NM's 24/7 and sell the drops for gil which is then sold.

There's a party of Chinese players who work for one such "company" that camp Stroper Chyme 24/7. We were there camping Stroper with them yesterday and outvoking them. Man they got kinda mad.

Confirmed Gil sellers

Kofte DRG
Guanyu WHM
(always farm delkfutts tower.)

Kinewang RDM
Longko DRG
(ZiTah-Ordelles)

Please /slap these dousche bags when u see them, because they are the main reason Certain AH items (Acquired in these areas) have plumited in price and causing poverty among others who farm for armor and spells and such.

I dont know if its against POL's TOS but i think it is morally wrong and a GM needs to stop this.

I have gound new gil farmers that were levelling up. Again in Korrolaka Tunnel. I promise to get FRAPS to be able to get the funnier parts of this.

The PJs as were mentionned earlier. Those guys went awry at one point. They were all split up. Looking for PT breaking up forming up... breaking up... forming up.... and oneof them suffered at least 1 death. (thats what you get for charging a group of 5 worms)

I will try and upload the pics or if Sub wants them to post up....

The PJs work in a group of 4 (so far) and have different races and jobs combined together. (not like Umoise)

I will edit the top post soon to list it up.

Oh yes.... he pathetically /say Hlep a few times and pratty a few times

Next time you log in, do a /sea all Valkurm, Qufim or Pashhow. Tell me how many level 22+ subless, Rank 1 San d'Orians you see.

Our server IS infected by the Zooe's, but there's a party in Qufim with distinctly Chinese names, as well as Valkurm.

I also apologize to anyone who was hurt, maimed or otherwise traumatized at my sadistic attempts in breaking their morale.

Seven giants, four Wights and two banshees to the zone where they were camping wasn't pretty.

I saw another 1 mage 5 anon-polearm-guys in qufim Island.

I saw another pt of them in Ordelles cave one in Valkrum.

Our server is getting more and more of those people. ><

I saw a group of people in Pal Mines that had basically similar names. Iceangel, Fireangel, etc...five or six of them, all without a linkshell.

Not sure what they were doing, maybe Eco quest, cause there isn't anything really good in Pal Mines that I've found..

hahaha... i've seen the "Zooe...'s" and now I think I've seen a new group : "Rose...(something)". And to that person that brought the massive monsters to the zone at Qufim, Cool! Had I been there and died, I would have been ticked... but now know the reasons, I honor you! And to the person that posted the wired artical, interesting, thanks!

lololol... wish I could have seen that Qufim zoning... hm... maybe try zoning a Nm...? like the Dunes... I heard of someone once zoned the NM from the secret beach... think it was the whm af1... or something, not exactly sure, but if lvl 50's are needed to kill it, surely those lvl 20 gil farmers wouldn't stamd much a chance against them... lol

Thanks, but I really don't think what I did was exactly honorable. Nor was it nessassary. Also, I do not condone this behavior. I strongly advise NOT training mobs, because innocent bystanders DO get in the way, and dileberatly training mobs onto other players is in direct violation of the ToS. But I do believe that if they are, in fact, gil farmers, it's for the good of the server. Two wrongs may not make a right, but I guess you can say we're justified in doing so.

I think that if farming wasn't as boring it wouldn't happen :P

Like, they could make everything cheaper. But then obtaining the top items wouldn't be a challenge anymore, and that would dramatically affect the general gameplay.

If you have horribly repetitive things you are bound to find people using bots to skip that part of the game.

I know this sounds horribly silly, but if fish bots were allowed then we wouldn't get bored to death fishing and there wouldn't be anyone tempted to use illegal tools to have a better playing experience.

In roleplaying games with DMs, if you're level 400 and want to kill like 1000 level 3 bees, the DM will just say "Sure, you go and slaughter 1000 bees" and just skip all the 1000 repetitive fights. I know you can't fast forward MMORPG servers, but automatically doing it is as close as it can be.

Basically if anything is a breeze to do, it should be made automatically. Or it should be made so no benifit can be gained. Or both.

/rant about boring stuff in MMORPGs.

Edit: Oh, an example just came to mind. Growing plants in pots. That's nice, because it pays enough and doesn't bore you to death.

Roselover, Roseenvoy, and others, are friends, but not gil farmers, to my knowledge.
One evening I was playing Guardian of the Khazam gate zone against stray goblins; Roeselover was there.
She seemed a little aimless, I was not really sure what she was doing. She was /anon, but her equipment clearly showed that she wasnt standing around hoping to level in that particular area.
On the other hand, she just kind of wandered around, een putting on her seek flag, but remaining anonymous. She did it a couple times. I pointed out to her that she still has /anon on, but she just smiled and nodded.

She healed me sometimes while I was beating down the goblins, and I struck up a conversation with her.
She's very friendly, though I still never actually figured out what she was doing there at the time, other than being bored like me.
I think she has a similar sense of humor to mine (i.e., one that leaves most other people just scratching their heads).

As far as I can tell, she and her friends are perfectly normal players, just that they have chosen names for their characters that are based on a similar word (like the famous Taru "-bean" linkshell).

I know what you're saying, but its still a flawed argument.
The bots are "illegal" because they are not allowed.
As soon as you allow them, there are no longer "illegal tools".

If we made crime legal, then we wouldn't have people breaking the law anymore.

Put it that way: honest people don't get penalized for not cheating.

Pretty weak argument I guess :P

I think I can vouch for Roselover. She (or one of the Roses I saw) raised me and the PLD I was partying with about a week ago in the Canyon. There was another Rose* with her - warrior or PLD I don't remember. I doubt a gil farmer would cross half a zone to raise you. :)

While I was /searching for players around my lvl the other week, I noticed 4 DRG/WARs, around lvl 45, ptying in Yuhtunga Jungle. "Oh, look, a bunch of DRGs decided to get together and do some community service!"

At this point, I'm guessing they were lvling on some T or VT mobs there. I saw this group in Crawler's Nest this past week, with the 4 DRGs at lvl 48, and they were lvling on Soldiers and Hornflies. The 4 DRGs all seemed rather "stiff", but they also had the help of 2 Tarus mages nearby who would help them during battle.

I happened to be LFGing at the time, so I had my seeking flag up. When I came near this group, I received an invite (no /tells, just an invite) from one of the Tarus. I was a bit curious at what he wanted, so I accepted. When I joined, the Taru didn't say anything, but then proceeded to request a trade. I went into the trade screen, and noticed absolutely nothing happening. So after a few seconds, I quit the trade. I immediately get another trade request. So I decide to disband and put my seeking flag back up... and I get an invite from the Taru again! Could this have been a Teleport bot? I kinda wished I had traded him 1 gil, just to see what would happen. Maybe I would have ended up in Tahrongi.

Those 4 DRGs have now hit lvl 50. And they appear to be in farming mode. Usually, 1 of them is in Beadeaux, another 1 in Delkfutt (and so is the invite-happy Taru), another in Sauromugue, and the last one in Batallia.

Hmmm... maybe Genkai 1 will be a sufficiently difficult barrier for these gil merchants.

I despise these gil farmers but....
what can we do? I saw a pettion to SQ-E to rid or ban them from servers but this causes a major problem...
    1) they have no why to know if its a gil farmer sending money or (for ex.) Me sending money to a linkbudy to purchase an item for me from a different town to send back to me
2)Would I then have my acct suspended?
