My first experience in Qufim Island...Follow

... and I already miss the Dunes :S


First of all, hello everyone, since this is my first post in this area - I usually hang in RDM forums, to know what is expected from me in a party situation.


Me, a almost-newcomer level 20 RDM/BLM got to qufim island hoping to easily find parties to level up/have fun. I hope party leaders dont exclude ppl only by job, since I think that more important than the job is the abbility of the player himself.


Upon arriving, I searched for party. Having no feedback on the first 10 minutes, I was invited to make a duo with a BLM and search for gigas trapper. However, my partner was so speeded up that didn't even waited for me, I spent the whole time trying to follow her and got aggro most of the time. I've never seen anyone dieing so much in so little time.


After an hour or so, I tried to complete the party, so she passed me the lead and I started to look for one; Although I dont have many experience in ffxi (been playing for a month), I consider myself a good team-worker, I know what a RDM is supposed to do - and I think I do it well - and I organized parties in the dunes. But not knowing the spots and the enemies is a great disadvantage, so I passed to a more experienced one.


We eventually manage to get a party of 5, but what a mess! No teamwork (I've never seen healers get hate so fast as that), seemed like every man for himself. I ended the night with less XP than I begun


Oh boy, I really miss the warm sun and the good baths of secret beach, with all those Taru's in topless!!

I'd like to insert..a lot of the trouble I see flowing from the dunes and quifim, I attribute mainly to powerleveling. Powerleveling is like a boil on the ass of new players and they don't even realize it.. This outside healer comes along, steals all the hate..eliminates all the danger, and an entire genre of players with their heads up their bums wanders all over Vanadiel without the slightest idea of how to do their job or deal with problem situations.

In anycase, the road to finding good parties in Quifim, the dunes..and even Kazham will be a tough one. If you're lucky you'll land a party of exceptionally aware new players who can do their job..like yourself, or perhaps a party of experienced players leveling their subs. Just, don't let it discourage you. :) If you ever need any help in game..send a tell (^_^)b Lomelindi is my character name. You'll be needing your Kazham keys soon.

Not be to rude.. >_> but just wait until you hit 40. RDM with Refresh.. you'll have to beat the invites away with a stick XD

The beginning levels are the sucky ones, specially if nobody knows wth is going on.



Fixed, and it's true about getting more invites once you get re. Also, at that level your RDM will go through what I call "second metamorphosis," at around 55 another. Thus, you'll experience 4 changes throughout your RDM career (if you can make it) o.o

Hey look on the bright side, you can get in and out of qufim in one party if its good! Also some of the things that I would look for when making a party there is to look at their subjob lvl and see if they have a search comment. Usually people with complete subjobs and have a search comment that doesnt make them look retarded is "usually" a competent player. But thats just some of the things I look for. Also if ya need any help just ask, Izzy is the name ^_^
