So it seems alot of people today got a tell from Crabber that is a website with a zip, tell claiming he quit and the zip is ffxiwarper.zip and would ofcourse be a trojan.

I dont know about every one but I never got a /tell before that pretty much everyone else on garuda got. SE is paranoid and you know it.
If you want to argue windower, well I used to use it. Before it started getting tons of 'extra' tools that SE should have put on the game therefore they are fine.
Spam is detestable and we sure dont need it on the game. It's all over the internet but it would be nice to not have it on game and yes I say ban that windower if it helps.

What you are saying is QUITE extreme, people don't need windower to spam you, as they can just type it in or use macros. Giving up freedoms to preserve what can be technically filtered is not the right way. It's like saying the patriot act is fine, which basically goes against constitutional rights that Americans hold so dear.

Why do people get so defensive about an addon program? It does do things that put other players at a disadvantage now. It has become very little different than the other bots. Before it had a reasonable reason to exist. It was ridiculous to give up all your computer to one game for extended times. That isnt the case anymore.
SE's window may not be perfect but it did answer our need to be able to access our computers during gameplay.
That was others windowers only reason to exist that was legitimate.
I admit the addons are enticing. Botting fish for hours while doing housework is enticing in its way also. Getting from place to place immediately is enticing. But that sort of thing does give advantage.
I hardly see where the enforcing of an existing rule against an 'illegal' program is the same as abridging a privacy right as implied by the homeland security act.

I hardly see how Windower Lite, for example, is such a bad program. It basically is the same as the FFXI built in window mode, but takes up less of your visual space.
It allows me to see ventrilo to know who is talking, and allows me to see who just signed onto AIM. All this while still allowing to play the game as if I were playing exactly in FFXI windowed mode. I do not use add-ons, and I do not use anything else other than the Windower Lite. But I guess I'm cheating the system?

Choco, that is exactly how it was intended to be used originally wasnt it? Why didnt they leave it at that?
I liked the windower. It was nicer in some ways like not making tunnels so dark you cant see where you are going.

Plugins are the best thing that has ever happened to this game.
