Ranks 2 thru 5Follow

i want my airship pass cause im tired of paying for my teles *500 gil isnt bad but when i have to city hop a lot it gets bad*

im currently rank 2 i have a rng @ 16 and a thf @ 30. about how long would it take to get to the point wehre i gety my airship pass *i think its after rank 4-3 mission*

i fish and can easily get 500k...would it be faster to just fish up 500k and worry about rank once people start caring about rank?


any suggestions appreciated... i prolly shoulda put this in the missions/quests forums but you guys are on the same server so you know whos out tehre and willing to help.

Just so you can gauge it, the usual progression is

rank 3 by 25 (usualy a level or two earlyer) - level cap is 25 on the last mission of rank 2

rank 4 by early 30s

rank 5 by early 40s (although I've heard of ls's helping people as low as level 25 get rank 5 - but these are the exception)

and mission 5-1 by level 50 (level cap thing again).

As for it's usefullness: oh yea bippy. Not only is it usefull purely for transportation purposes, but you will get preference in invites. Usualy for two reasons. 1) it shows you havent' spead thru the levels leaching off the parties you are with because you've spent time outside of leveling working on your character. 2) you can get arround faster, especialy for the non-mage jobs this alone will get you more invites since the party leaders can judge how long it takes you to get from point a to point b.

Just a side note, once you leave the dunes, qufim and khazam (and to a lesser extent, altepa and CN) you will no longer be going to an area expecting to get an invite in that area. Levels 40+ you could be in shakrami hunting elementals when you get an invite for a party in the quicksand caves, one of the west altepa entrances. So as you can see the regionality of invites disapears and you better be ready and able to travel far and fast

(that reminds me now that I'm in my 50's level wise it's time to go get that xarcabard telepoint crystal)

i'm a BLM :), HP-jeuno, always, seconds later BAM! jeuno, a few more seconds later BAM! Altepa, but ya, i need to do mission 4-1 i have all the key items i just need to go to the Beastmen places, if i could get help from someone, or if some other lvl 40s,50s wanna do it together, that'd be great.


with the 500k u would spend on the airship pass, you could pay ppl to get u to rank 5

RANK 3 2k i think

mission 3-1, use crystals and skip

mission 3-2, get like 2 or 3 sneaks/invis oils, go to davoi talk to someone, done

mission 3-3, pay a lvl 60+ rdm or whm for sneak, i'm sure they'd do it for 10-20k, or u could find someone thats very nice, and they will do it for free
RANK 4 5k or something

Mision 4-1, Pay a lvl 60+ to get u thru the areas, and kill the mob, i think u fight a mob once u get into each of the Magicite, after u go to all magicite-Beadeux, castle oztra, and um.... Davoi,
RANK5 10k and airship pass

Modd is from Windurst and I know for sure you can't skip 3-1 from Windurst but you can with 3-2. Thought I would point it out ^^.

Modd, stop fishing and get your missions done.
