Well until another group of people volunteers to let us use them for target practice this will have to do. Syria was looking promising, but Russia already called dibs on that one. Libya was over too fast. North Korea could actually kill people, and we kind of like China anyway, or China's money at least. Iraq has its moments, but it's just not consistent enough.
Afghanistan is like the perfect opportunity. We don't have to worry about the war ending prematurely. They aren't really a serious threat so we can shoot things with relatively few casualties. The world was behind us getting involved in the first place, so we have a good excuse to be there. So many reasons it makes the prefect training ground. It's the kind of opportunity you don't give up just because you aren't "winning" or whatever people think you should be doing over there.
