And #6, to rub some salt in the wounds.

Germany not generally not known for their mercy, in many aspects of life. "That old German mercy" said no one, ever.

Müller still looks like he wants to break Klose's brand new record this match if possible.

edit: Jesus Christ Schurrle, that's just excessive.

It's already the largest victory in a semi final ever, the previous record was at 6 - 1 and also set by ze Germans, I forgot against who though.

Germany's biggest win in a world cup ever was an 8 - 0 victory over Saudi-Arabia in 2002 in group and the Saudi's were embarrassed about that.

I'm not sure I'd be willing to sleep anywhere without an armed guard if I was on this Brazilian team. Maybe they can hire some Germans as body guards?

Of course, no keeper likes giving away the 0 no matter the score.

Good luck tomorrow. Nexa has already chosen orange clothing for the kids, I'll try and post a pic. Not even Messi can overcome my photogenic spawn, you can't lose!

Just popped up on the BBC feed.

Quote:
South American football expert Tim Vickery

"A few years ago we met the players of Brazil's 1950 World Cup squad and they have never been able to forget that defeat, well it will be worse for these players because this is the biggest humiliation in the history of Brazilian football. I feel desperately sorry for them but it might be cruel but necessary.

"Brazilian football is ludicrously short of its potential. resting on its laurels saying everything is fine. It isn't fine. Germany regrouped after the 5-1 against England and Brazil need to do the same thing."

Also, if for some reason you didn't see enough sad fans...

Dutch commentator already called it the death of Brazilian football and he's probably right.

Neymar will return, Silva will return, Luiz will return but beyond that? Not many.

Beyond that I have my doubts they'll be vying to host another world cup anytime soon.

Around 2060ish you'll get a group of younger people wondering why they haven't hosted a World Cup in almost 50 years despite being a dominate force again. Opposition to the idea will slowly fall as everyone who remembers today dies off. Only then will a new generation be primed and ready to be embarrassed in front of the whole world again.

Sounds about right.

Worse than 1974? Without Silva and Neymar, yeah, probably.

What a thrashing. They couldn't even get the consolation prize of crippling Muller, though Luiz made a valiant effort.

Now it's just a question of whether Scolari will quit or get fired.

Also, apparently this happened.

Hour to start, I feel bad for both Argentina and Netherlands since nothing they can do today is going to get them out of Brazil's shadow.
