In what sense does that agree with what Gbaji said? If anything it's more closely aligned to Smash's position.
To my perception it agreed with Gbaji because it seemed (to me) to say that the cause of violence was being disadvantaged. Doesn't matter if they got there via racism or Government mind control, being disadvantaged was the root cause.
But we know that being disadvantaged isn't the root cause, as even middle class blacks shoot each other more often that middle class or even poor whites.

it also provides a ready excuse and even encouragement for holding the lives of blacks in lower regard than the lives of whites for all races.
Perhaps I need to drink a cup of coffee ad read this again, as it seems to imply that blacks shoot each other because racism has convinced them that their lives are worth less than whites, so it's OK to shoot each other?
Also, I'm honestly not trying to be an *** or dense on purpose. I think that we're all guilty of trying to make everything fit our preconceived notions, and in this case, I simply don't think racism or poverty are the cause, so everything I read is going to be contorted to fit that.
Having said that, yeah, I don't think it's racism ( or poverty).
