So there I was, waiting on my wife to pick me up off the street in the city. Didn't have any music or books while I waited so I was just looking around at the world. Well, there were these two pigeons by the curb. One of them was taking bits of food from the ground and throwing them into the street and the other one was eating them. "This bird is retarded," I thought. "The other bird is eating all his food." After about a minute of the bird taking the food and throwing it, the one eating it was well into the road. Just then BAM, car comes by and runs over the pigeon. That bird wasn't stupid. He was a cold blooded killer. He lured that bird into the streets to kill him. I just stood there shocked. The murderer was just standing there on the curb. Worst of all, he was staring at me. Right at me. He didn't move. He just stared at me. Staring with those unblinking eyes. Pools of deep dark obsidian evil. He knew I saw it. He knows that you can't have loose ends to a murder. I felt a little uneasy the rest of my wait. By the time my wife picked me up the pigeon had disappeared. But I know he was still watching me. I'm sure that pigeon followed us home. He knows where I live now. He's biding his time. Waiting for me to fall into his perfect trap.

He knows.

So what are everyone else's plans for the weekend?

Posting official re-enactments of your story, work, and maybe Zoo time with the nephew.

I'm going to be saying things about the US army that guarantee me a response.

I hope you're ready for this. You're going to be a very busy man.

Well, it's already established that our vaunted Army recruiters are being hunted down and slaughtered by pigeons...

I'm hoping to get some kayaking in today, though I feel like absolute shit. Tomorrow I gots me some OT work, then bowling with the wife and friends.

A tale of pigeon murder was a good start to the weekend. Smiley: clap

No specific plans, just enjoying the return to normal weather after our little heat wave. Cleaning, shopping, re-potting some plants, chasing the cat, being chased by the cat.... the usual.

At my old office there was a little trail out to a pond and stuff. It provided a nice walking opportunity during the work day. Because it was a rather isolated bit of wilderness within Maine's big city there was a lot of wildlife crammed in there. I'd often watch green herons fishing for frogs. There was a pair of musk rat - yes they were name Suzy and Sam, and there were lots of crows. One day I was at the pond and I spotted a crow's talon on the ground beneath a tree. There was a crow in the tree that still appeared to have both feet but it was watching my every move... like crows do. I kept the talon dried it and made it into a pendant but every time I'd walk out to the pond after than - that dam crow would be waiting in that tree for me and would start screaming, "claw, claw" as soon as I'd get near .

I got carrots in the garden!, the clothesline set up for the season and even got some sheets hung and dried before the unseasonably cold, cold rain.

Sunday we drove in to Boston to catch up with the younger child.

I was so busy throughout the weekend I didn't even see this thread.

Friday: Relay for Life for the office. We raised $1800 and donated another $1000 from the corporate fund.
Saturday: Tiny little local sci-fi con. I helped run the anime track. I gave panels on fanfiction and Final Fantasy, my two biggest time wasters.
Sunday: Platelets and an early Cinco de Mayo celebration (our fav Mexican restaurant is next door to the blood center, which is handy.) We put a note in our calendars for next year to not order the margarita pitcher unless we have a third person to help drink it. As a result of alcohol intoxication we had to head to the sports center next door and play drunk mini golf for a little while before we could go home.

I spent the weekend avoiding all Asylum threads, so I could get some work done even while flaring due to the weather. As much as I love spring, it doesn't like me very much. I got 4 tree pendants/ornaments made for Pagan event I'm vending at in June. I done other Pagan event the last 2 summers and got good sales on my trees ornaments each time, so making sure I have plenty as this event is larger and runs for 5 days instead of just Saturday/Sunday of the other one. Here example of one of my pendant that goes for around $40.

No it's a blue lace agate. An Opal would get a silver setting, as this cold connection bezel isn't one I would use for a semi precious stone like opal. I did end up doing another one with a moonstone like this, Sunday and one with star sapphire in silver bezel Saturday, but no photos yet.
