This really depends if you are talking continents or countries.

When I think of 'America', I think of the United States. I think of it much like a large family. Lots of very different independent voices all joined by a common purpose, much infighting but heaven help someone who picks on you and yours. Having lived in some and toured through much of the rest of it I can say that I love it all but the variation across states is something to see. Of course, you stole the whole lot from the natives, a habit you adopted from those evil British types.

Canada is ours, so hands off thank you very much. Queeny is head of state and we have a lumberjack song for it and everything.

But, joking aside. I view America like a person in their young twenties with a few too many guns, a little too large an ego and a lack of empathy/understanding for anyone who does not think it's way. It's someone I am friends with but occasionally cringe at what it does of out of ignorance.
I have met 2 types of Americans, the kind who knows there is a world outside their state/USA and then those who think the USA is the world.



It's your religious fanatics that scare the **** out of me. The one thing I have never understood is that with all the talk of extremism in religion and terrorism in the world, people seem curiously blind to the whacky "The world is 4k years old", Westboro Baptist church and the like in the US. Seriously, the US is the home of some very extreme and very scary Christians.

It's also composed of like, 40 people. Literally, there are 40 members.
