Dude... unless you're ignorant to what is going on and/or it's part of the job, you can't award sex appeal PERIOD. That is sex discrimination.

If you rewarded sex appeal evenly across genders it wouldn't be discriminatory. Well, in a non-legal sense it would "discriminate" against ugly people but since they're not a protected class it wouldn't legally be discrimination.

In that case, I would say that it becomes "part of the job". I think "ugly" is indirectly protected under the law. If I recall correctly, 'twas those very reasons why US airline carriers were hit with lawsuits before and were forced to change their hiring procedures. It's also why most other countries have "model" like attendants that look the same.

US carriers were hit on their weight/height restrictions.

Thanks. That supports the notion that "attractiveness" is indirectly protected by the law. Attractiveness is subjective therefore unable to regulate, but I think we all agree that if we had to imagine an attractive lady, she wouldn't be short and chubby. The height/weight regulations were their way of discriminating against women who didn't fit their model profile. That would be ok, if it were a modeling agency.

I'll consider most of them.

Just not their faces.

I just had to look that up. Smiley: oyvey

Which is most preferable: a pretty/handsome face, a smokin bod, or a clever mind?

US air carriers also had a tendency to discriminate on age. That's changed too. I've found that having my tea served by a nice old lady mid-flight is actually very comforting.

You must not fly their international flights then. I believe United reached into the bowels of Hell for their flight attendants. None are under 55 and remind me of the old Catholic nuns we had as teachers in high school.

To include brandishing yard sticks.

Don't even bother asking for a pillow/blanket or something to drink outside the set "food time" window.

The pain...make it go away.

She's a airplane lady, just a little bit shady,
Spending her days on the plane.
She's a semi good-looker, but the fast wings they took 'er,
Now she's tryin', just tryin' to get home again...

No one's going to get that... bunch of hippies... Smiley: oyvey
