Things are just too weird.

Out today is Putin's Op Ed in the NYT's.

He points out that the in by-passing the UN the US is weakening the institution. He claims that the Syrian War is not a civil war for democracy but warring religious factions. He states that he believes WMD's were used in Syria, but not by the Syrian government.

I think this quote weakens his credibilty...
Quote:
It is alarming that military intervention in internal conflicts in foreign countries has become commonplace for the United States.
Alarming? srsly...

He closes with a this....
Quote:
We are all different, but when we ask for the Lord’s blessings, we must not forget that God created us equal.
Nice reminder about tolerance. Too bad he had to credit it to his deity.

With all the recent LGBT discrimination laws in Russia, Putin talking about tolerance and equality rings a little hollow.

We are all equal. Just some of us are more equal than others.

It was pretty hilarious. Pot, kettle and all that. The only thing missing was the **** ( definitely not Germans ) reference.

However, the most amusing part was the stunned reaction of the population. All of a sudden their cherished "special" status was apparently taken away by mere words... and all I can hear is a raging sulk that can be roughly translated into:

"But but but.. I was always told we are special..How dare he tell me something contrary to my beliefs!!!!1"
