That may have been one of the most passive aggressive concession speeches I've ever heard. There was nothing gracious about that at all...

He kept it short and sweet. And he got the crowd to clap to wish for Obama to have a successful 2nd term for the sake of the country (and they had the sense not to boo that comment). Good enough for me.

I think it was only one man who even started to boo early in the speech, and the same man (judging by voice) who tried to say something stupid when Romney mentioned the President having to reach across the isle. I think the man was got the hint when no one reacted to his attempted comments.

I was a little surprised that the right to die initiative was defeated in MA, but nothing else was too surprising about this election aside from the Dem gains in the Senate.

Now to decide what Totem gets in his signature...

Sometimes I forget how great an orator Obama is. Especially compared to Romney, who always looked like he was on the verge of explaining why his joke was funny.

Yeah, that's the biggest disappointment. We don't get a "Ha, it was me all along and I was right so give me $50!" post now.

That dumb pension amendment is going to pass in IL.

Thats horrible. My parents didn't vote for it because they didn't see it on the ballot. It was a huge wall of text in the middle of the page. I would have have missed it myself if I hadn't of been looking for it. Eyes went straight to presidential box. Wonder how many people that was true for?

Irritated that pot decriminalization/legalization didn't pass in Oregon. Other than that, I'm a pretty happy camper!

It still passed in Colorado/Washington, which is a start. Once they start taxing it and duke it out with the feds, and let loose all the people in jail for Nonviolent pot charges, if they do that, and suddenly see hey those states are saving tons of taxpayer dollars, not imprisoning potheads etc, and getting revenue from the taxes on it, More states will be more willing to legalize it.

Funny part is I agree with legalizing and taxing it, I havent messed with the stuff since I was l like 19, It makes me sick and I dislike the taste, but I have no issues with anyone that does it, I mean it seems to calm many of them down. While Alcohol I can't stand, I hate it, I dislike drunk people very much, is completely legal. I mean I still think you should get a DUI under both but booze IMHO is worse, I've seen way more drunken brawls and accidents, and just plain human stupidity from intoxication then I have ever seen from high people, which isn't to say there might not be people like that or it might be a side effect, but whens the last time you saw someone get into a fist fight while high, and I'm not talking about the scuffle to be the first person to grab the cheetos.

To be fair, the Miami Zombie wasn't high on bath salts, but only THC. Pot enhances things, so if you're crazy already...it can make you more crazy. My best friend from High School got the occasional panic attack, but on Marijuana the paranoia caused him to have more, so he quit.

Didn't stay up to watch the results as I was pretty sick. Feeling a ton better though, and reading the results has my eyebrows going higher and higher.

Obama reelected.
Allen West, Todd Akin, Mia Love, and Richard Mourdock all lost their races.
FL refused to amend the constitution to rescind a woman's right to privacy or to give taxpayer money to religious schools.
And two more states approved gay marriage.

Awesome!

... Oh, and MA allows medical marijuana, and CO legalized its recreational use. Cool, I guess?

The polls are all wrong!

I was hoping for a sundae cherry with a Bachmann defeat but I guess she squeaked out a winning 3,000 vote margin at the end.

Looks like Heidi Heitkamp will be winning the N. Dakota senate seat for the Democrats. From what I've read about her, she almost literally knocked on every door and shook every hand in N. Dakota (yes, all fifty of them).

And, after sabotaging the last four years of governance and recovery in a failed attempt to unseat the President of the United States, the GOP is beating the "he has no mandate" drum to lay the groundwork for another four years as the Party of No rather than trying to fix anything. Stay classy, Republicans.

Actually, because of the pickups in the house, I've already heard Newt say the GOP & Boehner have a mandate too.

Dueling Mandates!!!

That Newt Gingrich sounds like a sharp fellow. He should run for president some day.

Obama won women by ~20 10 points. Romney's closing the gender gap! No war on women!

I heard 20 on the radio this morning but CNN says 10 points in their exit polls. Either someone was wrong or else I heard wrong (maybe it was single women by 20 or something)

My favorite part of the post-election coverage was listening to desperate, bitter, Megyn Kelly. As the real-time results were coming in unfavorably, she kept changing her rock to cling to, culminating in this bit where she moved the goalposts twice mid-sentence:

"Well, I think it's important to point out that Mitt Romney has a sizeable lea- [screen shows popular vote results: Obama within 20k] -well the important thing to note is that he has a lea- [screen refreshes, showing Obama leading the popular vote] -well really, it's quite divided."

My favorite part was watching her wobble off the stage and down the hall like a newly born fawn. Has she never walked in heels before?
