at least you get to vote for your leader. The same Seats we vote in, get to choose their own leader. We don't get to split power like you. Our senate is appointed by the Prime Minister, who is voted to power, by the seats we vote in. The trouble is, when you don't like a leader, but you support the party. I would much rather have had Jack Layton as my PM, instead of Harper, because I do not like Harpers roots, and to be honest have not really liked the entire parties position since the PC's merger to the Canadian Alliance (a reborn Reformist party thats policies at times bordered on Third Reich Facist ****. that are being evidenced today with the silencing of our scientific community.) but I digress.
Your system is similar to ours, but in the end, you actually get a say in who the leader is on a national level not just the illusion of a choice.
