Whole speech is nearly an hour long, so I'm not linking it, but the above section of it is quite interesting.

To be fair, it's quite possible that this really was just a fumble. On the other hand, I wouldn't be at all surprised if it was planned. Gives him deniability, but still endears him to the racist voter population. And with his history, I certainly wouldn't put it past him.

My money's on someone inserting that word into the speech file loaded onto the teleprompter. Now I'm having flashbacks to the episode of West Wing where "bingo bob" is being picked as a replacement VP. Something like that, only with far less senior guys having access to the equipment than in that case.

"Anti-war" is an insult now?

And another GOP flavor of the week dies a slow, agonizing, political death.

When followed up by what could be the N word, anything is an insult.

As an aside, that was probably one of the funniest scenes in the entire movie.

NSFW, but you probably knew that.

Yeah, the GOP has been using that as an insult against Dems for years now. Supposedly, being anti-war makes you a peace loving, hippie, wimp.

The thing that I find hilarious about Santorum is that he wants theocracy, but he's so bad at being "Christ-like".

I mean, who was more anti-war than the Carpenter, amirite?

I beat you to the post of this video. Except I put it in the Omnibus GOP Primary Thread. Smiley: tongue While a hilarious freudian slip a person can't read too much into it. Now if he constantly made that mistake then yeah I would hold it against him (giggity) but as it stands I think of him as a fool, nothing more.

He's just an idiot plain and simple. I saw a post on The Advocate a couple days ago, reporting him telling a boy not to use a pink bowling ball at one of his events. Not even, "You shouldn't use that ball." But full on, "You can't use that ball." That level of gender policing is just ridiculous. They didn't mention how old the boy was, but as a friend of mine on facebook pointed out, most of the lighter bowling balls are pink. If he's a little kid, he probably needs to use that pink bowling ball.

I'm not too worried though. He wants to ban pornography, so there's no way in hell he's winning. I find it pretty funny that because Obama hasn't said anything against pornography, that automatically makes him pro-**** in Santorum's eyes.

He seems to be a manifestation of the far right's craziness... by putting him on TV they get pleasure, like some sorta of exhibitionist ************ on public TV and getting paid for it.

My oldest son called me in a panic a few weeks ago. He had gotten it into his head that somehow Santorum might just have a shot at winning this thing and he was moving to Canada because of it.

I had to talk him down since he'd never last a minute up there. Hell, he's so cold natured, he wears jeans and long sleeves in the south during summer.

This utterly baffles me. The GOP always gets painted as the political party that represents Christianity, but a large chunk of their ideology seems to be completely in opposition to what Christ teaches.

Jesus is all "Don't kill each other, be forgiving, help the poor."
Republicans are all "Let's go to war, harbor grudges and exact vengeance, and **** the poor."

It really confuses me how the party that's associated with Christianity is in many ways the least Christian political force out there.

I blame the Catholic church for distorting Jesus' message over the hundreds of years it was in power. And I can do that, 'cause I was raised Catholic. Smiley: tongue

Although I do find it funny that Jewish folks are stereotyped as being more liberal (non orthodox/hassidic anyways), where as Christians are stereotyped as being more conservative. It should be the other way around. Jesus was like the ultimate liberal in a lot of ways, and the God of the old testament was vengeful and mean - all about the eye for an eye type justice and killing the philistines and all.
