What a shocker! I know right.

This story about a "evil" banker who only tipped 1% on a $133 lunch has been all over the web this week and not surprisingly the liberal media (CNN,MSNBC,Yahoo,Huffingtonpost) picked it up and ran with it happily to contribute to the class warfare liberals keep pushing.

Only thing was is that the whole thing was a hoax. (which was obvious)

Now watching liberals get all excited about this "evil" banker was funny in it's self and I had tears in my eyes while reading comment after comment that was left on Yahoo and Huffingtonpost written by the Idiggory and CatWho's of this world demanding the name and address of this "evil" banker so they could go to his house and burn it down and spit on him and I actually had to go outside to laugh so I wouldn't bother the other people I work with when I read that members of OWS have demanded that the restaurant give them the receipt. (I'm guessing it's so they can confirm that yes indeed they are idiots.)

All of that is priceless but without a doubt the funniest thing about this whole story is that liberals who were demanding this "evil" banker be named were too stupid to realize that if this story were true that means this evil "banker" just spent $133 at a restaurant for lunch and it's because of customers like him that businesses can hire employees who in turn pay taxes that help support the 50% of people who pay no taxes.

You know if liberals weren't so stupid dangerous you guys would be great to have around just for the laughs.

(BTW Idiggory have you figured out who the 1% is yet? I ask because I don't want you protesting the wrong people cause I care)

Hehe, one of The Blazes's links of "liberal media" running with the story is the ACJ saying Yahoo's story was a hoax.

I suppose this means I should stop getting my news from Yahoo!. This shouldn't be a problem.

Eh, I don't make a habit of posting comments on stories outside of the comforting web of ZAM any more.

Too lazy, I suppose.

I did see this story, thought to myself "well, that dude's a successful banker, that means of course he's a stingy dick" and left it at that. No desire to drive over to wherever and burn his house down or anything. I like Whoopi Goldburg's method of revenge better: "I wish upon you a terrible case of ass acne."

I saw the picture, paid no attention to it. Why would I? Real or not, some people just don't tip politely(10%). Big deal. Sometimes I don't tip at all, though that usually means that the service was terrible, only an idiot tips when it's not deserved.

Sometimes the people on the internet just like to overreact to everything. I was hoping you'd have posted something that I could at least have some fun replying to...I miss Varus...

Um... It goes both ways. I particularly love this section:

Quote:
For Republicans, having a college degree didn’t appear to make one any more open to what scientists have to say. On the contrary, better-educated Republicans were more skeptical of modern climate science than their less educated brethren. Only 19 percent of college-educated Republicans agreed that the planet is warming due to human actions, versus 31 percent of non-college-educated Republicans.

For Democrats and Independents, the opposite was the case. More education correlated with being more accepting of climate science—among Democrats, dramatically so. The difference in acceptance between more and less educated Democrats was 23 percentage points

The author is looking at the wrong aspect. Both are the same, not the opposite. What the data actually shows is that the more educated you are, regardless of which "side" you are on, the more likely you are to strongly stick to your position on the issue of global warming. Both sides believe that when they look at the data out there, that it supports their position and refutes the other guys.

It's only the author's own bias that his side must be right that makes him conclude that Republicans are somehow different on this. If you switch it around, and you assume that the Dems are wrong about global warming, the same exact argument can be made in reverse. You could conclude that for some strange reason, the more educated a Democrat is, the more they will cling to their wrong-headed ideas.

Its comments like this that make people laugh at you. I could say the same about Conservatives wrong-headed ideas based on the above quote. I don't because it is possible that humans have had a great effect, or little effect.

One thing however is certain the planet is warming, for the first time that our species has been able to collect data, and track data. It is possible we can jump to conclusions, it is also possible to ignore warnings.

Yes. Welcome to the point. The difference is that someone *did* say that about conservatives, but failed to realize that this applies equally to liberals. Who you think is behaving oddly given their relative education level is solely based on which "side" you happen to agree with.

Not the point I was making. It should not matter what position you happen to take with regard to global warming to realize that the linked article makes a somewhat absurd conclusion.
