Mine has a little stand you set it in to recharge.

Speaking of upkeep, the contacts on my mouse/stand were getting less and less reliable and harder and harder to take a charge until I went over them with some steel wool. That solved the problem entirely.

I play too much RTS to go wireless. The delay just drives me crazy.

This dude is selling the Revolution MX without charger, etc for $30. Given that I already own a charger and wireless receiver gadget, I'm tempted to pick up a spare mouse for the next time my button goes flaky.

Edit: Actually, as they're used I don't know that they'd be better. Scratch that idea.

NOOB!

Actually that's all I use too. The wireless one for the laptop has to compete for batteries with the kids' MobiGo. That usually doesn't end well for the mouse. Smiley: rolleyes

I will never ever ever use a mouse with a cord ever again.

My boss still uses a mouse with no scroll wheel; doesn't like them, apparently.

I'll only use a wireless mouse if it comes with a charging dock/charges off a USB cable. **** changing batteries.

Been using trackballs for years because I'm too weak to move a mouse around. My current ergonomic keyboard arrived new with a faulty "P" key, but I decided it would probably cheaper to buy a new keyboard than have it fixed, and it would be ecologically irresponsible to throw a new keyboard out. So I have been living and cursing with this p key for a while. Thankfully the ctrl key and c key are going now, badly enough to justify a new keyboard as I can't live without cut'n'paste Smiley: grin

I have really dodgy wrists, so I need ergonomic layouts and wrist wrests. I saw this one, which has a built in touch-pad with "mouse keys". I got on REALLY well with touch-pads in the past. So this may be a perfect solution for me, if I can keep from spilling too much into it!. Thanks Kaolian for the outside/hardened keypad recommendation ages ago. I remembered that, but decided ergonomics were more necessary for me than crumb-proofing.

While I was at it, I went for this kneeling-chair with a back rest. My fitness ball is great on my legs and back, but is so low that my arms start having major troubles. My office chair is better on my arms, but the edge of the seat starts biting into the backs of my legs. I know I've loved kneely chirs in the past. I'm starting to think I'd do better with a child's desk with adjustable height. I'm 5' 2" and adult desks (and lounge chairs) just don't seem made for my comfort and needs. I'm an adult who is used to swinging her feet around in public while seated in a chair because my feet just don't touch the ground. And I don't get to brace my feet on car floors no matter how far forward I set the seat. Smiley: frown

I prefer wired mice as well. I suppose if you have a charger a wireless one isn't so bad, but I just got turned off on them early on with the potential for interference or dying batteries making them perform poorly. Usually right when you're about to engage the raid boss or something.

Damn backspace is in the wrong spot too Smiley: bah

Oh rapture! Oh joy! Smiley: yippee

Keyboard workie again. Finally pulled it apart (all the way apart) and found the problem. Apparently, someone has been eating food near said keyboard and whole bunch of crumbs had decided to congregate between the plastic layers of the actual electric contacts for the buttons. I played NYPD to their Occupy Keyboard and removed them from the premises. After a bit of cleaning up after them (they're messy after all), everything is back to normal.

If only I'd had a trained IT professional on hand to take care of this for me... <--- there's your periods

All you people complaining about battery life on wireless mice. I get 8 months plus out of a battery, and it warns me well before it dies to replace it. I have a Logitech M310.

Last wireless mouse I had was a Logitech somethingorother. I had to change the batteries out every other week. Of course, I bought it back in 2002, so I'm sure they're better now, but whatever. The cord doesn't affect me; I'm not making sweeping arm motions with the mouse, and the cord doesn't get tangled in any stuff.

Yeah, what's the big deal about cordless anyway? This is a desktop computer. The cord just kinda lays there, to the right of my monitor. I just don't see a need for wireless. Or a wireless keyboard. I can see it on a laptop, but not a desktop.

Pretty much this. For something that isn't going to be moving around, I'd rather have direct wires than use a wireless solution. In the same way, while I have a wireless router for when I take my laptop home (or someone else wants to use a wireless device), I run actual wires to all the devices that are stationary. So my computers, my Bluray, my TV, all have direct network wires running to them. Why not? Once you put them in place, you're done.

The only reason I have a cordless mouse and keyboard is because of the already large mass of cords behind my desk. I guess in the large scheme of things two more cords isn't much, but it is already a mass of cable chaos back there.

It does keep my desk a bit tidier, I guess. I'm a bit of a neat freak which makes me ponder why the hell I got a glass table. UGH. Never again. That, and black furniture... constant dusting. Grrr... If it was natural wood tones at least I wouldn't see it. Smiley: lol

It's ok Joph, Flea doesn't read here that much anymore.

And no, I don't own a VCR. Or a DVD or Blu-ray player. We just use our DVR, On Demand and Netflix.
