I'm going to try and get the bulk of holiday shopping done this weekend, hopefully get a new phone upgrade, and game a bit. Xavier starts his track out which means until the new year I will have all three boys home. Note to self: stock up on Brandy before you pick the child up from school. I also have to start prepping for next weekends birthday party for Ashe. He's turning 5 next week How the hell did THAT happen?

I'm headed to work, which will likely involve hitting a particular file server with a particular sledge hammer because it is being annoying at the moment...

I think I'm going to rent Winnie-the-pooh and watch it, in the dark, all-by-myself with a cup of hot cocoa and a blankie.

I'm a bit stumped on what to get my kid for x-mas. He's 23 and roughly equivalent to you nerds in likes, demeanor etc. His PS3 zapped out on him a couple weeks ago when we lost power. I could get him a new one. But, him and his gf are planning on moving out this summer. She's got wii games as her family has a console, so I could get him a wii (then I'd have til summer to play Zelda). Furthermore, he's been carrying a trak-phone, it also just died recently (won't take a charge). So, I could get him a new phone - something a bit more fancy (but he doesn't want a phone-plan). He also said he wouldn't mind a little tablet like the Kindle Fire or Nook. Nook just now posted on FB about some new graphic novels that were just released for the Nook Color/table - they look pretty cool and he loves his comic books and backwards anime graphic novels. I've already got him a subscription to AAA cuz his car is a pos (is this worthless if he has no cell-phone?) and I'm repairing/cleaning a really, cool old winter coat he picked up at the Good Will.

I seem to have caught a cold and I wasn't even trying. So there won't be much on my agenda this weekend.

Speaking of Skyrim (it's on my Steam wishlist so I'm sure I'll be playing it ANY DAY NOW), I was playing Oblivion and thought "Man, once I'm done here I should try a mage type character. It'll be awesome; I can whip some a bunch of magic gear with this character and... umm... God damn it..."

That's what MMORPGs will do to ya.

Nothing on my schedule really. I do have to replace handles for both my hatchet and maul, and then there's the 45-foot tree that I felled the other day and now need to do something with. Which will probably come down to sectioning off and stacking somewhere; in a year or two that'll be a full cord of good firewood.

Speaking of, it's supposed to actually be decent this weekend so I'm going to be burning the last of the leaves and cleaning out the gutters. The former being a lot more entertaining than the latter.

Sure can. The trunk is about two feet thick for most of its length, and there's a sizeable branch, about a foot thick, ten feet long near the top. This is just what I felled; the top half of the tree came down on its own a month ago and I've already split most of that. So, allowing for gaps in the stack, the whole tree is about a cord of split logs and a few faggots of leafy brush.

I've been mainly doing the main quest line and some random dungeon poking and barely bothered with side quests, much less mods. I thought more side questing with a dramatically different character build (I'm currently a hack 'n slasher) might be entertaining.

That said, I've pretty much seen what there is to see as far as fauna goes and it's not super exciting (yay, more minotaurs and ogres) so who knows. I may just wrap up the main line and move on.

FYI, I don't have a clue how large a cord of wood is nor do I care since I won't be using one or selling one.

We burn seal blubber. Why do you think we sell all that seal cub fur to Europe? Got too much of it sitting around.

A cord is 128 cubic feet, tightly stacked, 4'x4'x8'. A Maine cord is when you're too arsed to stack and just toss it in a pile.

I just realized I'll need another pallet or two to stack on.

Spending the last of my vacation days this week finishing up re-framing my porch. Now I know why carpenters charge so much, it @#%^ing sucks and you get sawdust in your nose holes.

It's funny you mention OGame; that's actually what got me over here last night. I, coincidentally, also recently purchased Elderscrolls: Oblivion (deluxe edition, bitches) and have been completely underwhelmed with the content. I've been playing a lot of the Total War series and was looking for a new time sink that didn't impact my schedule. I'm thinking about starting an account just for giggles but probably won't commit to doing anything with it. +1 for the reposted ghosthampster twat rambling. Ahh, the good ole' days. You know, back when the Asylum was good?

Sometimes I get really drunk, and make a post that I think is absolutely hilarious, but it is really just a flounder at best. And while alcohol isn't weed, now I know what it looks like when somebody else does it.

Wow I guess last night was a good night after all. I vaguely recall writing this but, I bet I thought it was hilarious at the time.

In the midst of the holiday season, buying a new $60 game may be a bit of a stretch. So they cut the price of Oblivion to $6 on Steam and we all jumped on it. After Christmas, and the new baby, and Thom's birthday...I'll probably get Skyrim sometime in the spring, or whenever it goes on sale.
