Yeah I am in the same boat - want to play but it isn't really a realistic price atm on my budget

It's not in any of your price range because you're all lazy son of a b*tches. Of course that's probably why you're so into video games in the first place.

I'm not buying it because I'm a responsible consumer. And I just bought this awesome hand-bag that was kind of expensive. And my in-laws still make me give them a x-mas list. I have a hard time thinking of stuff to list - so I'm saving Skyrim for just this purpose (and socks).

That's not to say I'm not lazy, but it wasn't laziness that caused me to refrain from buying the game.

I'm not buying it because I still have a few games to finish so I'll wait for it to hit the Christmas sales. If I can play games 3-5 years old for the first time and enjoy them, I can certainly play a game 2 months old.

Man, I need me some more socks. I'm doing things backwards...buying my games and tech stuff myself, and wishing for socks for christmas.

No, it's not. But it's more than I wish to pay for a game. $20 isn't a lot of money in the broad scheme of things but I wouldn't spend $20 on a Big Mac just to prove how little $20 means to my livelihood.

GeForce 9800+ GTX (or GTX+ or something... all those characters are in there in some order).

Now and then I look at the Tom's Hardware hierarchy but the recommendation there is to go up three tiers to make an upgrade worth it and I'm not about to drop $300 on a new card.

yeah, the GTX+'s are nice cards. A Geforce 560Ti GTX would be about the cheapest true upgrade you can find easily. A 280 or 285 GTX would also be an upgrade, but they are getting rare. I can't remember which motherboard you ended up with, but you might be able to add a second card if you have a beefy enough power supply and essentially double your video horsepower.

I run the evga 560ti gtx and I love the card, it's come down on price as well from what I originally got it for a few months ago.

As for my weekend, Skyrim and then I watch my nieces for a day and a half. Five and Eight year old blonde devils, should be a good weekend.

This, played a few hours of Oblivion, since I downloaded the game. If I finish Clash of Dragons in the next day or two, I may spend the rest of the weekend playing it.

I love playing older games cranked up to ultra settings on my mid-range system. Oblivion is downloading now!

My copy of AC:R came in today, but I'm probably going to set that aside and stick with Skyrim. The weather is supposed to be fairly miserable this weekend, so I see no particular reason not to just play it all weekend.

I'm still trying to convince myself I need a 590 GTX to replace my aging 280's. So far it isn't working.

Kao, you absolutely need a 590.

Does it help if other people convince you?

Only if you understand what you're talking about.

This was a hearty thread. It survived the week.

I suppose everyone is still playing Skyrim this weekend. I think I'm gonna try out SWTOR this weekend since I got a beta key.

Other weekend fun includes cleaning the leaves out of the gutters and continue on with holiday baking. So nothing really fun at all. Smiley: frown

Skyrim, cleaning, & sleeping today.

More Skyrim & cleaning then my 30th Birthday party Saturday night. Should be fun, especially since I don't actually turn 30 until the 29th.

Recovery Sunday & work again Sunday night.

Those would probably be the only ones that stayed active. It'd be hell.

Also, nothing tonight or tomorrow but a date on Sunday :)

My brother's in that. He's been enjoying it thoroughly.

I picked Batman because I'm biased.

Also, taking some time to dump a bunch of games that I beat years ago because they're taking up space.
