You know those giant trailers that trucks haul cargo in? Put one or two walls inside, doors on one side, window on the other, run some basic wiring and an air conditioner and boom. Housing for two to twelve people per unit. As far as redundancy ... well, making sense isn't a priority when it comes to military protocol and such.

Interesting. There's an architecture studio project in there somewhere.
Been Done.

Oh yeah, I know. I just meant in improving upon it. You see those things a lot in architecture school.
There's a company in Europe, Sweden I believe, that builds hotels in individual units so that it's mobile and expandable/shrinkable. We looked at it a few years ago to place in a few locations up north where there's gas/diamond exploration. Turned out to be too expensive to ship them.

That's kind of ironic, isn't it? I mean, what would be easier to ship, loads of construction equipment or the actual shipping containers themselves?

In order to insure freshness, when shipping a shipping container, it should be placed inside a well-padded shipping container.

We wanted to use them in Canada, while they're only built in Sweden. It's a big pond.

It was still too expensive to make worth while given the capital investment required, then to ship them around to different areas to be deployed. We never would've recovered our costs. It just made more sense to not even bother with the areas altogether.

Oh, right, I forgot this was about the hospitality service. When I'm reading and responding on my phone I don't always see who's posting :)

Canada's at the north pole and Sweden's at the north pole... couldn't they just tie a reindeer to it and get it there in a couple minutes?
