I think the woman should probably be forced to leave with some form of severance.
WTF? If what she did is worthy of firing her, then she should not get severance.

Not that this one offence is worthy of firing her anyway.

Even if we're to assume that the driver couldn't have possibly made it fifteen more minutes, I'd call that a failing on the part of the driver and not the fault of the passenger.

That's not what I'm arguing. I'd be seriously surprised if she couldn't have lasted 15 minutes before having a breakdown. My only point is that if she was stressed enough to kick the woman off the bus, then she's more stressed than I want my bus driver to be.

You're not really making a point though, unless you're saying you side with the driver in throwing a mother and her child on the street because they're not allowing for an optimal driving experience.

ETA: Forced argument is forced.

???

How is it not an argument? I don't think she should have thrown off the mother, and I don't think she should have driven stressed. Thankfully, we live in a world where most situations provide more than two options. She should have stopped the bus, contacted her dispatcher for instructions, taken the time to try and de-stress, and taken it from there. Absolves her of blame for whatever the company decides, lessens the chances of getting into an accident, and possibly even provides the time necessary to actually get the kid to quiet down before they head out again.

Only if you're the pilot. But then again you'd probably be too drunk to care.
