Since someone else will bring it up anyway, the law doesn't actually ban sex as it distinguishes earlier in the section that "person" and "animal" are two separate things for purposes of the legislation.

So the Cuban population there should start to dwindle?

There goes the Miami cheese industry.

I didn't see any definition in the bill itself, however, I'm sure there is a compendium of florida law or some such that defines stuff...like animals. Still, it seems like you'd want to clearly state in the bill itself that people are excluded from the grouping of animals - just to avoid this type of goofy publicity.

But maybe that's just hindsight kicking in.

I suppose they could, but seeing as it uses 'a person' and 'animal' as exclusive it's abundantly obvious.

I don't know why anyone would decide to call gotcha on this law. Regardless of the exact wording, what is wrong with telling people not to fuck animals?

Its not so much that, as we're amused that the wording makes it technically say you can't fuck people, either. I doubt anyone is really arguing its okay, or even the real intentions of the law. Just us being amused at the wording. Kind of like getting the punctuation wrong on "Jeff helped his uncle, Jack, off the horse." You know what was trying to be said, but it doesn't make it any less funny.

Sometimes the Man-Seeking-Man stretches the definition of "man" to include deer, dogs, opossums, red-winged blackbirds and/or thirteen-lined ground squirrels.

Why do you want to take that away from him?
