What I really want to know is, where are these shadowy "feminists" telling college girls that one drink + sex = rape?
It's not as varus depicts it, but it does happen as part of campus safety and rape education programs; however, they're not a bunch of bra-burning feminists handing out fliers about the evils of drunken sex. What their studies find is that most students, male and female, do not consider it rape if there's a nonconsensual (via intoxication) sexual encounter. The prevailing attitude is that it is both normal and acceptable to engage in predatory sexual behavior (i.e., picking up drunk people to sleep with them). Note that we're not talking about two people getting drunk and making a mistake, but one person preying off another. Personally, I think it's ******* stupid to put yourself in that situation, but that doesn't mean I think it's ok to take advantage of someone in that situation, either.
Anyway, the finding is that it is frequent with young people and they don't consider it rape, don't report it, no big deal. And that's fine, because many times that's exactly the case, and both parties went out with that intention. The point of these programs isn't to brainwash college kids into thinking that SLEEPING WITH A DRUNK PERSON IS A FELONY!, but that they are trying to make these young people, who are inexperienced with the social norms of drinking and bar scenes, aware that no, it's not ok to **** someone when they're too drunk to even say "no," and yes, if your friend takes advantage of your intoxication to do that, that's not just "a crazy night," it's wrong.

I just want to add that rdmcandie is my least favorite poster outside of the unholy triumvirate. Carry on.
Personally TheifX is my four-slot. But I imagine I'm on more than a few people's list. Hrm, it'd be fun to do a top 5 least favorite posters topic, but I doubt it'd actually be on topic if I started it. Someone a little more socially accepted should do it.

Because most colleges are extremely liberal and anti-religious this isn't surprising. In fact ones forced to hide their religious leanings if they hope to make a good grade.
I go to a very typical university. We have nearly 100 religious organizations, and 1 atheist organization. Christianity still has a decisive majority within the student body, and at least a reasonable representation in the faculty (though it's understandably rarer for someone to be smart enough to be a multi-published PhD while at the same time deluding themselves that the universe was made by an invisible man).
Colleges just teach the facts. Colleges aren't anti-religious. Reality is.
