Well, if Boondock Saints taught me anything, it's that we'll need to watch out for the Russian mafia.

South End != Southie

South End: More upscale(as far as city folk go) housing, lots of gays(though it's no P-town), nicer shops and restaurants. Think Greenwich Villiage or The Cosby Show(but a little more gay). West of 93.

Southie: Blue collar, Irish-American neighborhood with some racial minorities forced to live in the area. Lots of working stiffs and plenty of underprivelaged. East of 93.

I have heard though that the city has put a lot of work into the City Point area and into the locations along the waterfront. Not sure how this has affected the area peronally. I've also heard that the Big Dig ripped up parts of Southie as well, though I don't think that is really near where we will be.

I won't be going to Vegas, ever. Not voluntarily.

If everyone is saying "y'all" and not wearing shoes, then you're south of it.

During my recent unemployment I've had an offer to head south and lend my HVAC knowledge to the cause of rebuilding New Orleans. It pays very well for the trade, and would indulge my humanitarian side, as well, but I find since my transition to white collar work it's much more difficult to imagine myself with a hard-hat on. The job is estimated at 2-5 years currently, with nine months on and three months off, tantalizing indeed.

All I really need to push me over the edge is the promise of a weekend of debauchery with the imaginary folks I trade comments with on a gaming site. So, the flooded remnants of some grand cathedral for next year's gathering? Count me in.

Also, if they serve sweet tea when you ask for just "tea" then you're well and truely south.

How far south is the question.

The woman is psychotic and I fear for my life just thinking of being with in (insert mode of death) reach of her. I totally believe she would try it if she thought she might get away with it.

I think next year is Chicago area, and there has been some discussion of the Miami area the year after that, but I think that might be pretty unrealistic for most of us.

'Bout the only way to get me to come out is to provide me with the opportunity to get drunk and lose 10 grand.

Also, as a former inmate of The South, I can also assure you that you are safe from meeting me should said interaction require me to set foot south of the Mason/Dixon.

No offense, Nexa, but if I give a woman $10k, she's earning it with every ******* at least twice.

If I had a nickel for every time that thought has run through my head, I could afford the 10 grand. :)

Moe, does Florida count?

I guess Tenn. and Kentucky and the rest are part of the south, eh? Somthing about living in South Carolina makes me forget the rest. I always think of SC and GA first when refering to the south.

I've got to take the opposite stance of Moe really, I dislike going north. West is okay, but I'll only go north to see the family that I have left up there... and this summer my wife's family as well.

They don't like my accent. Her cousins think she's from the country, just because we live in the south. Despite the fact that the Charleston Metro Area has 6 times the population of Schenectady

If anyone knows anything to do in upstate NY, let me know. I'll be up there at the end of June, early July. I'm thinking of visiting West Point if I can, but I doubt I'll be able to. Time constraints and all.
