My daughter contracted PINK EYE over the weekend and I had to stay home with her today and most likely will again tomorrow. I would take any illness my family has suffered through this past winter than having to deal with pink eye, and bronchitis, the flu, and strep throat all visited House of Thumbelyna in the past few months.
I spent last night semi-awake holding my daughter's hands as to prevent her from rubbing her eyes in her sleep. And trying to keep a kid from touching their eyes is like trying to tell Tom Cruise to get off a couch.
I am wiping down every surface in my home after my daughter has touched it. She thought that was a lovely game and started running around the house touching everything and laughing at me in her wake, knowing that I have to yet grab another roll of paper towels to clean up after her. After sitting her down on the couch and telling her to stop doing that, she promptly began to cry and fell down face first on the couch and rubbed her face all over the cushion. The sofa cushion covers are in the wash right now with the cushions prompt up because I had to clean those too.
I have had to wash her bedding and will have to wash it again tomorrow.
I know I'm probably being a bit more OCD than necessary, but anyone who has had a kid with pink eye knows the pain.
