Reading comprehension can be fun. I never said I was there during the Gulf War. I never said I was part of the military. I just said I was there for the aftermath hense, how I saw a 14 yr old girl 6 months pregnant. Maybe I went over to help them rebuild?

Your theory that I wasn't there because I can't spell is truly concrete...so try again Sparky

I never said you were in the military either, for all I know you were over there making "Camel ****", with some kinky German tourists.
But even an amateur "Camel fu[black][/black]cker", would have the basic geo-political awareness, to be able to name the "Republican Guard" and have learned how to spell Schwarzkopf's name, if they were going to be spending anytime in Kuwait.

Especially if they had taken the time to have the image of a pregnant, 14 yr old burned into their mind, I mean the last time I checked a pregnancy only took 9 months right? So you had to have been there shortly after the end of combat and it still had to be hotter than a firecracker over there.

I'm saying your story has some holes, or maybe I'm just being to hard on an "Amateur Camel ****" film maker.

Just saying.

First, the Republican Guard were not the only troops in Kuwait during the occupation. Do you really think I stopped and asked this girl if she was raped by someone from the Republican Guard? Do you think she cared?

Next, I must admit, I never actually took the time to learn how to spell his name. Concrete evidence I wasn't there....

Furthermore, I was there with the Red Cross or, maybe should I say Red Crescent for you history fanatics. The things I saw there can truly change a person's opinion about the world.

Lastly, just because my views about the world have changed, this does not make me a ****. It does make me opinionated. Whether my opinion is mainstream or not, I do not care, it is my opinion. Also, I could care less if you agree with my opinion. Do not bash me for my opinion though, it makes you look like the intollerant ****.

Keep trying to bash the new guy but first, come up with some solid arguments...

No, I have issues with your nationalistic xenophobia and racism. Your attempts to cloak your hatred for other races under a guise of "they smell" merely amuses me.

Yes, I admit to disliking racists. I'll embrace your "intolerant" label if that's what it requires.

In the meantime, I really doubt you went anywhere near the Middle East to help a bunch of gibbering brown people who stink of camel. Doesn't really seem your bag.

It seems that if someone has an opinion that is different from your own, you label them as a racist or a xenophobe or some other dictionary.com word. You look just as bad as me, labeling people you do not know and not accepting a person's right to their opinion. Nice try...

Yeah, 'cause there were no worse people than those who objected to the Holocaust Smiley: dubious

The ole switcharoo only works when it makes sense. "You hating foreigners and non-English speaks = ****", yes. "Me disliking xenophobes and racists = ****", not so much.

Only when their opinion is about how horrible those people are who dare to speak a foreign language while on a personal phone call.

I've never once called anyone a xenophobe for having a differing opinion on, say, salad dressing. Unless they hate Italian. Or French. Or Creamy Russian.

And don't take it out on me if you had to look up xenophobe Smiley: laugh

QFT...

At any rate shadowmen, you technically already won the argument. Godwin's is the law of the land.

Here we go again. I never once said I hated someone for speaking a different language. I never said I even hated the guy for smelling putrid. Take my post for what you want. There is no use arguing with you on this issue. Go ahead, keep thinking I am racist, i am not going home and beating my dog over it (accuse me of being an animal beater now).

Not complaining, just trying to put an end to a ridiculous misunderstanding and disagreement

We understand.

After the first Gulf War, you noblely joined the Red Crescent to do humanitarian work in Kuwait. There you saw a pregnant 14 year old. You returned a changed man -- one who hated foreigners and demanded that everyone in the United States speak English even while conducting personal phone calls. But no one is allowed to call you on it because those are your super-special opinions.

Did I miss anything? Smiley: laugh

Didn't someone call me a camel f*cker too?

Godwin's law:

The Law is generally used on Usenet as an indicator of whether a
thread has gone on too long, who's playing fair and who's just slinging
mud, and who finally gets to "win" the discussion. It has, over time,
become the closest thing to an impartial moderator that Usenet can get.

So, what this means in practical terms:

o If someone brings up ***** in general conversation when it
wasn't necessary or germane without it necessarily being an
insult, it's probably about time for the thread to end.
o If someone brings up ***** in general conversation when it
was vaguely related but is basically being used as an insult,
the speaker can be considered to be flaming and not debating.
o If someone brings up ***** in any conversation that has been
going on too long for one of the parties, it can be used as
a fair excuse to end the thread and declare victory for the
other side.

If you're going to try to be clever by copying from a FAQ, at least read the whole thing:

6. "Hitler!" Ha! The thread is over!

Nope, doesn't work that way. Not only is it wrong to say that a
thread is over when Godwin's Law is invoked anyway (Usenet threads virtually always outlive their usefulness), but long ago a corollary to the Law was proposed and accepted by Taki "Quirk" Kogama (quirk@swcp.com):

Quirk's Exception: Intentional invocation of this so-called "**** Clause" is ineffectual.

Sorry, folks. Nice try, though.

By acknowledging that my posting invokes Godwin's, I de facto eliminated the Godwin's effect.

There are two different posters?

Well, I'll be. Hadn't noticed that earlier. Pretty indistinguishable.
