What do you have set as your browser home page? News, e-mail, this website? I remember, back when dialup was still fashionable, that I had tried to make my homepage "about:blank" so it wouldn't even try loading anything...instead I made it "aobut:blank" so it would automatically give an error screen. Then left it like that for a year.

For the longest time I've had CNN.com as the homepage (and Alla's homepage on the laptop). Recently though I was checking out some of the options on Google and started using the Google personalized homepage. It's set up right now with my Gmail inbox on the left, CNN news and Google Top Stories in the middle, and my local weather on the right. This is all below the original Google search bar. You can add lots of other content or leave it as bare as you want.

I think I'm about ready to set it as my actual homepage.

I use a personalized google homepage. I have

-local weather
-local news
-Progress Quest update
-Slashdot
-WikiHow
-Gmail Inbox

So far I'm pretty happy with it.

I've stopped, but I still don't have one. Is there an alternative method?

You just go to google and click on personalize or something.
I have a gmail account as well, so it even shows me my newest e-mail messages. If you want a gmail account, pm me send me your e-mail address and I'll invite you to (it's by invitation only...).

Google with no personalization. Loads quickly, looks clean and it's there for me when I start my browsing session. At work, it's a fast loader should I need to hit the Home button in a hurry Smiley: wink2

I use Yahoo, because although Google has less ads and looks cleaner, Yahoo has links to sports, news, weather, personals...er I mean...stock tickers, yeah.

At home it's a different **** site each week. I can't be the only one.

At work it's some company based intranet thing that keeps me up to date on changing insurance laws and company procedures. Not everyone can do what they love.

A blank page, both at work and at home. I like to be able to click the "home" button and have nothing on it should someone walk into the room while I'm looking at things I shouldn't (like gifts people...yeah, you heard me).

I do have a google toolbar though.

I don't mind the internet stalking, but you gotta stop snipping off locks of my hair while I sleep. I have to get it cut now cause it's all uneven!
