I see. I got a bass guitar, did a google image search for what it says on the neck, and just pasted the picture. I'm so damn lazy that I didn't even check exactly what was on the picture.

And then do please post it here!

TILT
A mountain of clothes, a new winter jacket, two radiator style space heaters, a set of new kitchen drinking glasses, a nice desk clock for my den, a dishrack and the "toy" of the day was a digital camera.

My son received a kajillion assorted toys, puzzles, the previously mentioned rock tumbler, clothes, a portable DVD player, a Playstation 2, some games for the PS2, something that melts crayons down into figurines that my sister got him just to punish me (heh), some Star Wards lightsaber fighting game that plugs into the TV and some assorted other junk I'm forgetting. Not a bad haul for a six year old. Ordinarily I wouldn't so much be down with him having the DVD player but I do a lot of sidework on the weekends and he comes with and is always very good about sitting quietly out of the way and playing with some Matchbox cars or whatever. So the DVD player will let him have something else to do and be good.

I also received a couple DVDs from the ladyfriend as a Christmas gift warm-up. She's out of town at the moment so the actual exchange (and post-gift canoodling) will be in a couple days.

I got a sweater, a tshirt, a pair of pants, a gift certificate to a restaurant I don't like, a smart putty, and some cash. Woo hoo.

I'll get my last present (an ipod armband holder) at some point once my fiancee buys it again (circuit city lost the last one somewhere between calling into the store to buy it and her coming in to pick it up)

Some underpants, a cd of the incomparable sounds of Mr Robert Goulet, some cheap scotch, and some cheap airfare to attend "The Kumquat Festival" in Florida.

I requested donations to charity in lieu of gifts for myself.

Not really, but I'll probably do that when I get a real job someday.

Which version of the DMB set did you get, Ky? The "Best of the Weekend" or the full concerts plus DVD? I wouldn't mind the latter, as I've heard that the song selection on the former is pretty weak sauce.
It's a two CD set called "Listener Supported". It's a bunch of live cuts from different concerts. I put it on my list after I heard DM do a rendition of "Long Black Veil" on a concert I was watching one night.

I've only listened to one of the two disks but I like it - lots. His last CD, Stand Up, seemed rushed and pretty unimaginative. A big disappointment.

That's the "Best of the Weekend" version. DMB played a 4-day weekend at Red Rocks last year, I believe, and that is a selection of songs from those four days. They also released all four shows, in their entirety, and a DVD, in a separate package.

I got....

Nothing :D but the kids got a ton of presents from granparents and other relatives, so that worked out nicely.

Of course, I spent most of the day trying to figure out how to put together my 6 year old's toys. Hot Wheels playsets have 15 different languages on their instructions, none of which make sense.

We ended up playing with his numerous new card games that night. I gave up on the hot wheels.

Which one did he get? My son is an avid Hot Wheels fan. Personally, I throw up a little bit in my mouth everytime we have to put them together. They last a total of 10 minutes before needing repair. Bog monster set, the Orange comet set... He just got the gorrilla set for Christmas. Fortunately that looks a little more stabler than the others. It lasted 20 minutes

He got the "Crash Canyon" one, sadly it's one of the simpler looking ones, still took me until today to get it together though.

Best one he got, these two cars that get hooked together with a string, and spin around eachother until they crash. We played with that one for a good two hours betting on who's would win.

He gloated about kicking my ***, until we fired up the mario party and he caught a beat down :D

I got a set of three carved wooden chests with lighthouses and dolphins. Little one for the office, big one for the master bedroom, medium one for the guest room. We're getting loads of baby stuff for the kid and by far the most exciting gift I got was a baby San Diego Chargers jersey for her (number 21 for you US football fans). I also got Guns, Germs and Steel and The World is Flat (books), about which I'm pretty excited. I finally moved into the 21st century and made an Amazon wishlist so that people can buy me stuff and no that no one else has gotten it.

Wife is due in about three weeks now so we didn't go anywhere for the holidays thus people came to us, which was nice. Usually we drive 300+ miles to various family functions.

Was I the only one who thought "jumpers" meant jumper cables? (Now Angsty will post he thought why would anyone give extra circuit jumpers)...

I g ot the normal gift cards from my dad and sisters. Kids gave me a fancy bit of crystals and costume jewelry on a pony tail holder and Penguins! Actually a book Penguin Dreams, that I can read to the grandkids when they visit. One Penguin backpack, a beany baby penguin and a baby penguin that squeeks, one penguin pastic figure, a long sleve T-shirt with penguins on the front and DVD of The March of the Penguins.

Also some home made toffee and a dark chocolate tort that my son-in-law maded.

Best gift was my graddaugther reconizing me and wating grandma to hold her, once I got there. Everyone loved the hat I knitted for my grandson and now I have orders for several more. I'm going to have to see if I can get a copy of one of the pictures taken of that hat on granddaugther.

Lets see, I got loads of stuff this year. Guess I was good or something eh? I got a new P-51D mustang model with a photoetched engine detail kit, some star wars ornaments for my tree, some clothes, some books and book gift certificates, and a really spiffy cobalt blue Kitchenaid mixer, which was especially welcome seeing as I melted my hand mixer making cookies this year.
