Katie - those things you listed are old wives' tales. Everybody carries differently, based on a multitude of factors. At any rate, people have a 50/50 chance of being right in the end. Smiley: grin

Flea - I have a "feeling" it's a girl too. I don't know why - ever since I heard the heartbeat, I just felt like it is a girl.

Twiztid - I hope it's a boy. That would rule.

It could happen. He's not native to Maine so he doesn't have webbed feet. He could also freeze being furless. I haven't taught him how to wrestle bears or survive eating only bark either.

Have you explained Baseball to him at least, and then explained why everyone in Maine cheers for a team from Boston?

Yes, haha, but we like hockey better, naturally. :D We're also probably the only couple in the state who have managed to get into an arguement about whether or not our children will be allowed to play hockey or rugby. Maybe the only couple anywhere, haha.

UMaine is a hockey powerhouse. The Bruins suck monkey balls, however. Let the kids play Rugby, better haircuts.

Well I don't want them playing either! They might get hurt, haha!

Note: I don't have any children yet, I just like to invent things to worry about if there isn't any immediate threat.

I'm not paying a bunch of money to make sure they have perfect teeth just for them to get knocked out!

Pfft, hockey isn't that rough. I played since I was about 10, and all my teeth are intact. Not only that, but the hockey players at my school were generally smarter than most of the other jocks.

Besides, rugby is teh suck!!1

I played hockey untill I was 12 or so. I don't think it was possible to grow up in Boston in the 70's and not play hockey. Bobby Orr was like the pope.

Swimming is good! I'm actually going to try Echo lake this weekend, since I haven't been there yet.

Hockey is only fun if there are lots of fights. Well, at least to watch anyway.

Well I'm dying to go swimming and there just aren't many places around here (miraculously considering we have elevendy-kadillion lakes in this state) to go. I despise pools. It's a bit chilly for the ocean yet, though I'll likely take a dip.

Isn't like a two hour trip to Acadia for you guys? Surely there's a lake closer than that.

It's about an hour and a half. Closer than that there are a few lakes with no beaches. We're in the part of the state where the lakes are taken up entirely by private camps. Sure, I know people with camps, but I'd rather just go somewhere public than call someone up and ask to come over, haha. There are rivers, but they're poluted and only used for drunk midnight skinny-dipping. :D

That's good to hear. I never really threw up for real except once, but I was nauseated all day long. "Morning" sickness my ***!

When I was in the hospital out of almost 20 babies only ONE was a boy and every acquaintance having babies is having girls this year. My aunty said she read an article that sperm count in the nation is down or something and hubby chimed in that female sperm are stronger swimmers or something. So we were joking that maybe the two put together mean more girls and that eventually women will rule the earth. ^_^
