ROME - President Bush got a sharp dose of Europe's opposition to his Iraq policy Friday, quietly in the halls of the Vatican from Pope John Paul II and loudly in the streets of Rome from thousands of demonstrators.
I can just picture the leader of the free world, sitting perfectly still in the papal visitor's chair, gazing straight forward with unfocused eyes, a flush creeping up his neck to his cheeks and ears while the pope delivers him a stern "talking to".

I don't think Bush is Catholic, so I don't imagine he cares much. As for being embarrassed, that's gotta be old hat by now.

Indeed, he is not. Every single U.S. President with the exception of J.F.K. has been Protestant of some form or another.

Regardless or whether or not he's catholic (which he isn't), the pope is still a pretty big cheese to be publicly chewed out by.

<--- This is one American that does not care what the Pope has to say to America. He leads a Religious Organization that can not even police it's own from homosexual pedeophiliacs (sp).

I also found it funny. I just hope the Pope didn't use too many long words or our fearless leader of the free world might get lost.

I find it ironic that Bush gave the Pope the award in part for giving voice to the poor since Bush has so little regard for the less fortunate. Perhaps he thought it was nice someone was sticking up for them.
