I change my mind. I give you gold and this is the best you can come up with? I haven't laughed once! Try harder.

Gold into straw. Sort of like a reverse Rumplestilskin?

Speaking of, Cowboy Junkies have a new album out. I wasn't overly fond of the style of their last couple, however. Too studio sounding, I guess. Someone go buy it and let me know if I should.

There's been a murder in the trailer park tonight.

Not counting the latest, compilation or live albums, I can name seven albums off the top of my head. I think that's all of them. Their cover of "Sweet Jane" is off of The Trinity Session.

I've seen them in concert a few times. Margo Timmins is a hell of a dame Smiley: smile

Damn it.. Eight albums. I forgot about Pale Sun, Crescent Moon in my mental count.

I'd have to do favorites by album. Basically, I like all of Whites Off Earth Now through Pale Sun, Crescent Moon, some of Lay It Down, didn't much care for Miles From Home and don't think I've spun Open more than twice. I know nothing about their latest but, for obvious reasons, I hope it's more of a return to their beginnings.

Joph,

I think our taste in Cowboy Junkees albums is similar the newer stuff I don't like much. Whites and Pale Sun are the stronger albums.

Sounds like it. I'm all for about anything prior to Lay it Down. Agreed about Whites and PS,CM but, "Sun Comes Up, It's Tuesday Morning", "Witches", "The Last Spike", "Black-Eyed Man" etc all rank with me. Even Lay It Down has "Come Calling" and "Speed River" (or whatever that one is called).

Basicly, I think Margo Timmins has a great singing voice for what she was singing. Simple and clear to compliment her folk/country/blues influenced lyrics. But the last few albums have been more about the instrumentation it seems and her voice is frequently lost under the music and the lyrics haven't seemed as.. pure.

I'm not music critic, so that's the best I can come up with.

Haven't seen the sun for seven days; November's got her nails dug in deep

Also, for any junkie-addicted music fans, go out and buy the Phunk Junkeez latest album. It's like a mix between rock, hip-hop, and motown. Crazy!
