Man I wish I could post a picture of the SgtMaj that walked through...he looks like the people you are taking about.

And yes there are plenty of 'pagans' in the barracks...I can think of atleast 3 that have symbols in their rooms.

But I think the reason this happened was because of his ignorance to the flag and just seeing..."ugg...confederate flag...ummm...white guys room....bad...bad...bad"

Like I said before if we are talking about preception then I lose, but where do I/they draw the line on that issue?

If we are talking about the history behind the flag and then the US flag is in the same shoes as my "southern cross"

They are not aware that many people (especially those of a chocolate color) find the confederate flag offensive?

they still could, because the BP is what the military consider's an "organized gang", although good idea. maybe the flag of Niger would work or some african art work

I would die for Texas, but then again, this is my home. I love Texas, same as I love the USA. Dont **** with Lady Liberty, or my flag [><]! Toby Keith has the right idea....

What kind of fool are you?

You put anything in reference to African culture in conjunction with the Confederate Battle Flag and you'd be labeled racist.

I've been reading your posts on this thread and several others and you are about as dense as they come.

This entire issue is more an Equal Opportunity issue at the most, and in the Army there are rules against displaying objects or symbols that have the potential of being derogatory towards other cultures or races.

I can't remember what the exact phraseology is. But go through your chain of command to get the board back, and going to EO with out using your chain of command is not wrong if you do so to only inquire about facts about the EO policies.

It is wrong to go to EO, JAG or IG if you have a ***** and do not let your chain of command try to solve the issue for you.

jav.. you are either army or marines... personally i think your full of **** and probally too young to have hair on your balls yet. I will give you the benifit of the doubt on the age and say you must be army. Why you ask?? Your posts tell us that you are not the most intelligent of folk, so you cannot be in the Airforce, I expect better behavior from someone in the Navy, I am reasonably sure your too weak minded to be a marine, so that leaves Army. Your Iq is that of a bullet catcher, so yes, I think you must be army....

You have a grasp on the AirForce part...

Oh not only that, but I am a Marine in the Intel field, and we have at most 5 black Marines out of 300. And only 2 live in the barracks and they are close friends of mine and aren't offended by patterns and colors on a skimboard.

I honestly think he was just using his power becuse he was either board or needed a boost of selfesteem...becuase frankly, that is what they do when they feel depressed.

  • You dig your own grave to sleep in

  • The nick name bullet catcher, has more truth to it than you'd like to admit

  • TDY for us means "vacation", TDY for you means "HELL"

  • Now, Im not going to knock that you guys are some of the hardest working, abused, and unloved SOB's the US military has ever turned out. If it werent for you my hubby would probally be god knows where. The IQ thing, is a fact though.. only the craziest mofos, or the stupidest want to be infantry....

There is more then 1 job in the Army. I work in an office building with 1,000's of Soldiers.

But I do agree that the Army gets **** on more then anyone else.

Actually the Marines get **** on more than anyone else. The Marines are the first in and usually the last out. The nick name "Jar Head" is not a term of endearment. There is no other service that I respect more than the US Marines. - Alas, I am not a Marine though.

This "grave"is called a fighting position. Fight is something every soldier is taught how to do.

Through all the years as a soldier and interacting with all branches of service and getting **** faced with a good number of them, the term bullet catcher has never been used. Perhaps you as a civilian can enlighten the forum on the origin of this derogatory remark towards the men and women that faithfully serve and protect the country you live in?

    Quote:

I do not know where you are getting your facts from, or better yet your misinformation but TDY (Temporary Duty Station) means either school, or an assignment less than 6 months away from your permanent duty station. By what you are stating though is that zoomies utilize tax payers dollars to take a vacation when they should be conducting official government business. Nice to know that the Airforce represents the United States Government so well.

Again the hardest working in the US Military are the US Marines and the Special Forces to include Rangers and Airborne.

    Quote:

Perhaps you truly need to learn something about the origins of the US Airfoce before you go spouting off more crap. The US Airforce used to be part of the Army, before being split off to form it's own branch.

Now I'm not crazy nor am I stupid BUT I am Infantry. I serve my country where my country needs me most. I am not going to listen to some newly wed zoomie dependent that has no military service to EVER call an Infantry Man crazy or stupid. You're an ignorant, self righteous ***** whose husband if he had any respect for the uniform he wears would put you in your place regarding respect of other services. Until the day you ever don a uniform legally and serve honorably in the US Armed Services shut your pie hole and respect anyone that is willing to serve and possibly give the ultimate sacrifice for your country.

Oh go **** yourself before you start trying to analyze my train of thought.. it wont get you anywhere. Yes TDY, for AF usually means golfclubs and swim wear in tow. I personally do not like marines... but that is a personal thing, and its a very long ingrained train of thought, I just dont like them. Not for any particular reason than an old bone I had with one. I have no shame knowing that most airmen will roll over in the morning, kiss his good morning, and leasurley get ready for work. He will stop off for breakfast, bring donuts into work, sit down do some paperwork, organize a few things, and go out make sure the plane is ready. He then will do all the wonderful things leading up to helping an officer into that same plane, wishing him luck, and telling him to, "Go get 'em, sir.".

And in the Army the enlisted work side by side with the officers and do the hard work instead of waxing and buffing the airplane and checking the wiper fluid.

When the Declaration of Independence was signed, the institution of slavery was legally sanctioned in all thirteen colonies. There were, in fact, twice as many slaves in New York than in Georgia.

So the "Stars and Bars" could be considered a "racist flag" as well.

True, but when everyone realized that racism defied the true meaning of the constitution, the south did not want to let their slaves go after such a long time of letting other people do work for themselves, so the north and the south fought (of course slavery is not the only reason for the civil war, but it is a big one), Lincoln made it illegal to own slaves, and many slaves escaped to the north. The reason the confederate flag is considered racist, is because the south lost, and in the eyes of the north, and many other americans, it symbolized slavery.
