By 'North', do you mean 'North Hollywood', or 'Northward'?

How would this elusive sum of money be utlized by you in North Hollywood? If you're looking for a *****-yank, you'd probably find your dollar to be much more elastic to the south.

I confess I have no idea what particular area of Los Angeles is good to meet outside of a vague sense of a supposedly dangerous South Central area overridden with drug lords, gangbangers, whores, and ne'r-do-wells who throw concrete blocks at guys who mistakenly drive their trucks through their neighborhood. This area could be as vast as the city itself for all I know --South Central is as geographically ambiguous as saying I'm from NoCal.

You locals need to tighten up your specifics on where it is we are gonna meet. Isn't there some famous '50's style diner in the Hollywood area that is supposed to have good food? How about that spot? Or the Chinese Theater? Or the Santa Monica pier? I just need some place easily identifable and has parking.

North Hollywood and Studio City are where most of the higher priced call girls live. I have married friends with no sense of discretion.

Mel's. It's real touristy, and the food sucks.

The Viper Room is an overrated ******** with 11 dollar drinks. It was probably quite the place to hang out in '92 though. Fairfax is mostly Jewish so I thought Totem would be safe from Arabs.

I was tempted to suggest a place in Little Ethiopa but I didn't want him to go into shock.

Right you are, sir! However, I thought the prospect of checking out a sleezy/trendy Hollywood dive might have some appeal to individuals who hadn't experienced one. And by mentioning the Viper Room, I wasn't so much recommending that we go there as I was alluding to the fact that there are a number of dining options in the vicinity. At the very worst, we could buy some apple juice at the 7-Eleven and find Mr. Ed's hooveprints on the 'Walk of Fame'.

I've lived and worked in the LA area for a gazillion years, and I've never even heard of 'Little Ethiopia'. I suppose that that, in itself, is probably a good indication that 'Little' is a particularly apt moniker. In fact, I'm willing to bet 'Little Ethiopia' just rented a U-Haul and moved to Orange County- I think I saw him in traffic earlier today.

Ok, it's official-- I got my permission slip signed by my wife to go on a field trip to LA on Wednesday the 19th. I'm gonna be at Canters at noon, and maybe hang out to see if anybody else is gonna show. I still need a time, place, and a parking spot for any evening activities.

You better show, you bastards*.

Totem

*And by bastards I mean Smash, Git, Thundra, and Rob Pickles.

I suppose we could discuss it at lunch...

...but then I guess those who are working won't make it. Yeah, someone figure out where and when.

When all else fails, be unoriginal.

How 'bout Canter's (again) at 5:00?

If whoever shows doesn't feel like Jew-food again, we can find another place closeby.

I would move the time up, unfortunately, I can't. Maybe, in order to make your (Totem and Smash's) time together less tiresome, you could schedule your earlier tryst a bit later? 3ish, maybe? Then you'd only have a couple hours of eachother's company to suffer through before I arrived. Just a suggestion.

I'll plan on being at Canter's at 5:00pm (PST), unless directed otherwise.

If my inability to attend earlier inconveniences you two, pretend that I said I was sorry- I haven't, mind you, just make believe.
