Smash, have you forgotten the first attempt to attack the Twin Towers in the 90's? Or maybe the countless embassy bombings in other counties by the same organization which you claim was only able to act when Bush became president?
One, I didn't claim they were only able to act when Bush was president, I pointed out the factual reality that the greatest loss of life on US soil caused by terrorits happened while Bush was President.
Yes. And that attack also occured before Bush had made any significant changes to the US foreign policy on terrorism and the middle east.
Bush's policy changes came *after* 9/11, not before. You can argue all you want about whether those policy changes were the right ones, or whether or not they've made things better or worse in the long run, but you absolutely cannot imply that Islamic fundamentalists hate us only because of Bush and his policies.
It's quite obvious to everyone that they hated us enough to fly planes into the WTC before Bush started his "war on terror". Um... Isn't that bad enough? Are you saying that if we vote out Bush and elect Kerry as president, the hatred the terrorists feel for us will subside back down to the level at which they'll blow up buildings with 3000 people inside? Wow! I feel safer already! Where do I vote?...

You're right, though, I much prefer 3,000 dying n a building then 1,000 more dying in a country unrelated to the attack to years of peace and prosperity.
How could anyone want to go back to that...the horror!!
Again. Are you seriously suggesting that the 9/11 attacks occured because of Bush? Please back this up? The people involved were in country taking flying lessons well before Bush taking office. They attacked us because of a long history of US policy in the middle east. Policy which can't be blamed on a single party, and certainly cannnot be blamed on Bush Jr. Uless Kerry has a plan that is different then Bush's yet also different then the policies that brought about 9/11, then he isn't offering us a solution, is he?
Turning back the clock to the same political sitation that resulted in 9/11 is hardly something I'm looking forward to. Find me something better. Bush's plan may be bad. It may be good. But at least it addresses the very real fact that doing things the same way we've done them for 30+ years is not working. He's doing "something". Until someone else comes up with an alternative that is more then just ignoring terrorists and hoping they'll leave us alone, then you really can't say that Bush is "wrong".
