Rixtar stood poised and ready. Sweat dripped from his brow. His muscles ached. He yelled "Clear!" and forced the pads down hard. The air buzzed with electricity. There was the smell of sizzled thread.

And again the behemoth awoke.

Charles Bukowski:

"For those who believe in God, most of the big questions are answered. But for those of us who can't readily accept the God formula, the big answers don't remain stone-written. We adjust to new conditions and discoveries. We are pliable. Love need not be a command or faith a dictum. I am my own God. We are here to unlearn the teachings of the church, state, and our educational system. We are here to drink beer. We are here to kill war. We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that Death will tremble to take us."

...ethay endway...

Has anyone else ever seen Robin Williams' broadway performance on HBO? He has a great line in there when he's making fun of Mormons. I believe it's something to the effect of:

"The Creation. Could that be a metaphor for the big bang?"

/uptight mormon voice on

"No. God just went click."

/uptight mormon voice off

Sorry if that has already been brought up before, but I'm not reading through over 200 posts that long. I'm not taking one side or the other, just giving y'all something to chew on.

Yeah, cause Bukowski wasn't a lunatic... :)

I believe it is best captured in this...

"God is Dead."
Nietzsche
"Nietzsche is dead."

funny..even ole einstein believed in God. as for Charles Bukowski, I can't honestly say I even know who he is so I can't say much more than what I see of the quotes you put here. And still that would be judgemental so I won't go there.

to clear the record here, I have no problems with people not believing in God..free will gives you that right. just wish people would in turn respect those that do. for me, nothing in this life is worth risking eternal torment for..

Rev 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is [the book] of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

Rev 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

"I remember as it were a meal ago

Said tommy the cat as he reeled back to clear whatever foreign matter
May have nestled it’s way into his mighty throat. many a fat alley rat
Had met it’s demise while staring point blank down the cavernous barrel
Of this awesome prowling machine. truly a wonder of nature this urban
Predator. tommy the cat had many a story to tell, but it was a rare
Occasion such as this that he did.

She came slidin’ down the alleyway like butter drippin’ off a hot
Biscuit. the aroma, the mean scent, was enough to arouse suspicion in
Even the oldest of tigers that hung around the hot spot in those
Days. the sight was beyond belief. many a head snapped for double,
Even triple, takes as this vivacious feline made her her way into the
Delta of the alleyway where the most virile of the young tabbys were
Known to hang out. they hung in droves. such a multitude of
Masculinity could only be found in one place... and that was
O’malley’s alley. the air was thick with cat calls (no pun intended)
But not even a muscle in her neck did twitch as she sauntered up into
The heart of the alley. she knew what she wanted. she was lookin’
For that stud bull, the he cat. and that was me. tommy the cat is my
Name and I say unto thee...

Say baby do you wanna lay down by me
Say baby do you wanna lay down by my side
Baby do you wanna lay down with me
Say baby
Say baby"

ah, Tare. So your saying your better than anyone that doesn't believe what you do. and to prove that, you post random quotes from places you believe to be anti-God (in this case).

nice going, You've gotten better at being a moron! (255)

on another note, I haven't heard primus since high school. Les Claypool is an insane bassist.

Love your God if you need to. I could care less.

First time I saw them live was before I was in High School. I was at the Square back in 89 when they recorded part of the Suck On This album. If you look really closely, you can see me and my brother crowd surfing in the DMV video that they filmed at the Phoenix in Petaluma.

I never saw them live, unfortunately. I jumped on with "Sailing the seas of Cheese"...Jerry was a Racecar Driver and Tommy the Cat used to be programmed in for quite a while.

EDIT: The lyrics of Sgt Baker were pretty tite too.

No, Empyre, I was having a bit of fun with you, since you so seriously responded to our quotes. We weren't saying anything about god at all, in a direct sense. Sheesh. I didn't realize you were so sensitive.

Just playin', dawg. Oy vey.

The empty space in your previous post suggests a blissful state of drug induced euphoria where Twinkies reign supreme and nachos march endlessly from the bag into your mouth.
