I'm really not sure what is more disturbing. The fact that he did that, or the fact that you know about it.

He used to do it in the pub, with an audience. I am not suggesting he did this in private and as a matter of course.

... and no one told him to stop after the first time? What were you guys drinking in there? Laudanum? If someone tried that over here in the colonies they would be left outside for the biker gangs and indians.

I had quit for a couple months, but then I went to England over Christmas. I quit again as soon as I got back. I'm too weak to not have a cigarette there. Everyone there smokes, everywhere. It's far too tempting to be able to have a cigarette and a cup of coffee in a restaurant after a big meal. Jesus, I'm only human.

I don't know why, but I've read that line like six times now and it's still making me laugh.

Lol, damn you Totem.

That'll teach me to let a thread go a whole day with out reading it.

Honestly, I'd say I smoke about a pack a year. Just because I can.

I moved to VA from CA, so you could imagine my shock when I went into a restaurant and people were smoking.

Smoking became less fun when the threat of my Mother driving by my place and catching me, then stopping so slap my butt stopped being an issue.

Used to smoke a lot, years ago. 6 teenage friends, 4 of which had jobs, 0 had any rent to pay=a lot of beer and cigs and weed.

Eventually, we all had at least one pipe and one bong named after us or by us. I was the last to join the group, so by the time I had gotten there, they had;

Pipes:

Hurricane - twisty cloud colored pipe, with carb.

Gumby - Named after one of my buddies, nice green pipe, with carb

Oh ****! - Some kind of mini-vacuum they attached a metal bowl to, light it, flip the switch, and... Oh ****! *cough*..

Bongs:

Puffalufagus - Big purple bong, about a foot high

Green Lantern - See through green bong, they'd put ice in the chamber, then a green glow stick. Mostly at night :)

Joey- 6 foot bong we named after our friend Joey, the biggest pothead we ever knew. He moved to Humbolt CA.

McGeyver - Sprite bottle, tin foil bowl, straw mouth piece. /shrug, it worked.

I know I'm forgetting a couple, but hey, what do you expect? Smoked a lot back then.

Later on they added the pipe "Skeeter" to the collection.

I was the first to stop, then my friend James stopped and joined the Army, Gumby was next to stop, he joined the Airforce, Gumby's brother Chris stopped, is now in the process of joining the Airforce, but I hear he has started smoking again.

Come to think of it, I'm the only one out of the bunch that hasn't joined any of our Armed forces.

Did you know, that if can read music, and join the army, and are good enough to get in the "Army Choir", you start out as an E3?

Was tempting.

To the OP, when I smoke, it's usually all the way down, but I find that it's a bit too much for me if I smoke it down all the way since I rarely smoke.

Smoking and driving? No way. I seriously get light headed still with one Cig.

I like the smell of Black & Milds, I guess they are like mini-cigars?

I think there is one in my car, for the aroma :)

Kaolian, that was the flat-out funniest one liner I have read in a lonooong time. I had to nod my head when I read Pat's post, because I too read and re-read your post several times laughing harder each go-around.

RACK well written posts.

As my breaks during the work day only last as long as my cig does, I usually smoke down to the filter at work. At home I am a social smoker, only smoking as much as my friends.

Can't stand saving a cig for later. A re-light is a terrible thing.

In my car, I will usually toss the butt out the window unless there is a coke can in one of the cupholders, then it goes in there. I never use my ashtray, as that is reserved for loose change.
