So I find myself with time on my hands because the Senate offices were closed down due to another bioterrorism scare in the mail. Anyone know what Ricin is?

Currently reconsidering whether or not to still hold our Reception in Dirksen.... Curse whoever did this a thousand times to hell.

I believe I heard on NPR this morning that you would have to inhale a large quantity of this for it to be fatal. If injected the quantity needed is much smaller, as the CNN piece says. So just don't sneeze into the envelope.

Ricin is a toxin derived from the distillation of the castor bean pulp left over from the process of making Castor oil. it takes approximatly 1,000 castor beans to even make a detectable level of ricin. The refining process is also highly toxic.

Lol, Invis!

Perhaps the FBI should be checking out that hotbed of terrorism: Ricin University? I don't know why they chose the owl as their mascot though...

Btw, how shall I spend my 6000th post? I promised I wouldn't ever start another pharming thread.
