Hey, if you wanted a cookie so much, you should've been the Cookie Monster instead of Oscar the Grouch. But, since you did name that tune...

/em gives Tare a cookie

Bah. You should have some ground rules for this game. The whole point is whether folks will recognize lyrics and be able to remember the song/band. Tossing out b-side songs from bands with limited or no airplay is kinda pointless don'tcha think? I could sit here all day posting lyrics from non-labeled local bands that no one but a few hundred people in the world have ever heard, but that wouldn't be a very fun game IMO...

It should be only songs that get airplay (or are classic enough that most folks should be able to recognize it). Even if someone doesn't recognize the lyrics, they should at least recognize the band and song when they read the answer and maybe even go "Ah! Now I remember!"...

So. How about this one (should be easy):

I bought a toothbrush, some toothpaste
A flannel for my face
Pyjamas, a hairbrush
New shoes and a case
I said to my reflection
Let's get out of this place
Past the church and the steeple
The laundry on the hill
The billboards and the buildings
Memories of it still
Keep calling and calling
But forget it all
I know I will

Allright sillies.

Here comes another:

I found a picture of you
It would hijack my world at night
To a place in the past
We've been passed out of
Now we're back in the fight

HAHAHHAHAAAAAAAA!

Is that the song with Kid Rock and whatshername? I have no idea what it's called though.

Hmmm... Maybe "picture", and it's Sheryl Crow?

So sad, that you had to cheat to get the Pretenders, Back on the Chain Gang. But then again, there have been lots of easy songs on this thread already that I've been clueless about.

If you post a relatively easy one, I might just be sober enough to get it!

Hehe. Ok. Try this on for size...

She screams in silence
A sullen riot penetrating through her mind
Waiting for a sign to smash the silence
With the brick of self control

Wow dude.... not a clue in the world.

I wonder if anyone would get this:
From the wasteland
Cold steel under my wasteband
Hazardous times
Enemy lines drawn in the middle the streets
The concrete's stained with blood
I still got to eat

When I hit the street I made the man understand
I fought with flesh and I bled like a man
I rode that edge of darkness my friend
Stood up to the enemy so life could begin

Well, Antima, if you can bust out the crazy metal then so can I, dagnabit.

You think that I'm the one to blame
Everything I lose is just a piece of what there is to gain
You think it's cool and all is fine
Now is the day when you pay, this is my time
I feel for you nothing but pain
I am what you will be, you are dying in me
I love you, I hate you, I miss you...

You're always thinking you're so perfect
Those thoughts drove me away from home
But if you put me through your tests
Then I will fade

Take THAT mister i-bet-nobody-knows-my-strange-rock-references man!!

Hey now, nobody is allowed to bust out the crazy metal here. I have no idea what that is, Twizzler, but I suspect the cheese factor is off the charts.

Try again, little man, and give us a fightin' chance while you're at it.

I have no clue what Twizted has. Not even gonna cheat to find out. This one however is VERY simple, and should be guessed fairly quickly.

And it's true we are immune
When fact is fiction and TV reality
And today the millions cry
We eat and drink while tomorrow they die[i]

try this classic cheese for size.

I lived alone, my mind was blank.
I needed time to think, to get these memories from my mind
what did i see, could i believe
That what i saw that night was real and not just fantasy
Because in my mind, it oh so clear
Evil that twists my mind and brings me to despair.

Mine was a song by Ill Nino. Great heavy metal band. I thought that if Antima knew Fear Factory, he might listen to other metal bands, get off my back y'all. And PLEASE don't call me Twizzler. /ugh. Hate that name...
