I've stated from post 206, measure twice and cut once. If you're going to make any changes, then understand the situation fully before acting. All of the changes don't have to be done all at once, but they should be thought of and planned.

This only proves two things.

1. The decision to deny those benefits had NOTHING to do with DODMA as people claimed. If it were, then unless it changed recently, then it can't happen.

2. If the military was all about allowing homosexuals to serve openly, then this thought process would have been done already. You can't preach "treat everyone equally" and then have to consider giving the "equal benefits". That doesn't make sense.

Side note: Unless you make everything Co-ed, it is impossible to make it equal between the two groups. Of course you don't care about equality, just homosexuality. You wont admit that, but it's ok.

It is absolutely possible to understand the point you're trying to make, disagree with you, and consider you idiotic at the same time. In fact, it's distressingly easy.

Also, I'm pretty sure anyone who has ever used the "gays are treated the same! They can marry women, too!" argument is disqualified from accusing anyone else of lacking introspection, comprehension or empathy.

I'm not sure what negative consequence I'm to understand has resulted from DADT's repeal. I mean, I get that it's causing Alma to throw a hissy fit, but that ain't exactly a negative consequence.

The only negative consequence is a lot of wasted tax dollars, but it's fairly inconsequential because those dollars would be wasted whether the policy was repealed or not. It'll now be wasted on research on whether the repeal is harmful or not, whereas if it weren't repealed it'd be wasted on research on whether it should be repealed or not.

You do realize the difference between planning and executing right? If there were a plan to expand benefits to same sex couples, then there wouldn't be much of any future discussion, it would already be PLANNED. The execution can very well happen later. Given the fact that they are considering THINKING about the expansion just weeks after the repeal only supports **** poor planning.

Secondly, it supports the fact that this has nothing to do with DOMA, unless it recently changed. Which supports the fact that the military just CHOSE not to give them those benefits all at the same time telling everyone to "treat everyone equally".

If you can't put the dots together, then that speaks highly of your own intellect. Especially if you claim bigotry in the simple concept "Measure twice, cut once"


It sounds like your problem is with the military and it's horrible systems and **** poor job at doing anything than with people who support the repeal of DADT.

Also, you're a bigot because you are staunchly opposed to the repeal of DADT and are blaming everything on that instead of placing the blame where it belongs, which is with the mismanaged institution for which you work.
