Well, technically he said it, but not the right way.

Sorry, let me rephrase that.

Technically he said it, but not the right way.

More than it already was by the Obama administration? So you're saying that Republicans can't point out when Democrats politicize something because that would be them politicizing it as well? That's... ridiculous! Bit of a double standard you got going on there Joph.

I think the SPCG would have something to say about that.

More Republican vote/registration tampering. This is, what, like the tenth story so far this election cycle?
LA times wrote:
A man who was being paid to register voters by the Republican Party of Virginia was arrested Thursday after he was seen dumping eight registration forms into a dumpster.

Colin Small, 31, was working as a supervisor as part of a registration operation in eight swing states financed by the Republican National Committee. Small, of Phoenixville, Pa., was first hired by Strategic Allied Consulting, a firm that was fired by the party after suspect voter forms surfaced in Florida and other states.
[...]
Strategic Allied is owned by Nathan Sproul, an Arizona political consultant for Republicans whose companies have faced charges in past elections of submitting forged forms and of dumping Democratic registrations. None of the charges were proved, and Sproul continues to do get-out-the-vote work for conservative causes this election.

Political Wire adds:
Quote:
Though the report says Small "was first hired by Strategic Allied Consulting, a firm that was fired by the party after suspect voter forms surfaced in Florida and other states," his LinkedIn profile says he's the RNC's Grassroots Field Director.

It's a good thing they're working so hard to iron out all that fraud.

In before Gbaji and "this was just a lowly employee, not representative of the party in general"

When we were doing registrations at a brewery a couple weeks ago, someone walked up to the table and joked he wanted to "register as a hard core Republican!" My husband explained that all registrations in GA are non-partisan, and the stuff is sealed up before it's turned in even if you did do something crazy like write "Zombie Reagan shall rise again!" on your form, no one will know.

Turns out the guy was there with a former Dem state Senator, and we ended up with big thumbs up and accolades for doing the job right. I think for the two nights we were there, we collected almost twenty registrations (which all had the required copy of photo ID because you had to show it to get into the brewery to drink, and we brought our all-in-one printer and a laptop with us.) I have no idea how many of those folks will vote for Romney and how many for Obama, and honestly that's none of my business.

A registration helper is just supposed to help, period.

So it doesn't matter in whose name they dump registrations?

Smiley: dubious

It seems like it was just a lowly employee, unless there's some proof in those articles that says he was told specifically to dump some registrations. The guy should be fired (if not charged; not sure if what he did was against the law, but I imagine it is), but that's most likely as far as it goes.

Now, if it turns out he WAS told (or persuaded, or it was implied) to dump certain registrations from higher up in the organization, take those bastids down! Smiley: sly
